Not cricket, but...

Lower Gilbert cricket:

Competition closes but where is the cup?

“It was last seen at the Owen Hotel, under the pool table.”

One game we had -6 and for the majority had -5 but out of the minus group from this season will become 0 points
why Wouldnt two wells recruit players. They have been average for the past few years. It might be time to dig deep get some quality players and people to the club to help the footy side progress.

We did and they left. The thing about two wells is that our senior colts can come in a fill a gap in our side. I believe TW made a GF in 09 but it's about time we start making finals regularly. And I believe the recruiting has started already 8)

No offense MH but i didnt think it was about how many points u dont use so you finish towards the bottom of the ladder, next year recruit well and use yr full allocated points and the Roosters will be playing finals again

Imagine the enquiry, he would have no idea of his iconic status on the Plains.
I'm lead to beleive that the original Johnny Palmer was a goat herder from Lower Light.

Wonder if Kym Herrmann will make an appearance. Difference however is that these players are 7 to 8 years older and also the whole competition I believe is far better than it was back in those days. Mallala, Balak, and Virginia would be a step above that team. They would prob be on par with hummocks/united of last year. My thoughts only

Your thoughts are extremely outlandish. If you think the Balak of today is better than the Hamley of 2003/2004 you are an ignoramous.

The current Peckers line up can only improve and will stand miles ahead of the Bombers from that era. Also our flag was won with locals not a team of imports, what was Hamley's import quota is those years?

I'm with MH on the whole era thing! Every one is going to say there club was better in there era so what's the point! Hazbeen I don't think it matters a whole lot about how many importS hamley had, with eras your talking about the team
not the players in the team and for all hamley knew those players could have stayed for another 10 years so I have no problem with that! Saying that with the list balak has i'm thinking they will have a very strong few years ahead of them!

Uumm :? ...one season numbnuts. It was a blessing we've won 3 flags since then... :D

The old' tall poppy syndrome is kicking in already.... hang in there folks

Tall poppy syndrome?? Mallala have been a good side the last few years but a bit rich to play the tall poppy victim.

I wasn't referring to Mallala as the 'tall poppies' Woofa. I was referring to Steve Lubcke, he seemed to attract a few comments inferring he couldn't coach, though he has coached a group (a bloody talented group) to 3 BL&G flags. I'm not sure why blokes would be knocking the bloke, other than if they were suffering tall poppy syndrome. I'd say its generally coming from those that probably haven't achieved a real lot in footy.

Fair enough, i re-tract my comment.

I think you guys have missed the point. I wasn't talking individual clubs as such but the fact that the whole association has become a better comp than it was 8-10 years ago. I think that is a fair point to make
