Emus having a couple of light sessions in December but starting in earnest in January.

Cove started a week or so ago i believe, and I think Porties started a couple of weeks ago as well. All seems a little too early for me!

Anyone doing anything special for pre-season? The Seacliff Espy run is a usual favorite, with those stair runs as an added "bonus". Has anyone ever done any runs along any of the Hallett Cove Conservation Park tracks?

Pre-Season Trainings. Has anybody started yet???

Everyone trying to get that advantage over other teams. To be honest it's a bit of a joke starting in November. Afl is only really just started too but that's professional. January is a good time to start I reckon

Yeah I used to think January was a good time to start too, if you kept a personal base fitness in the off season. But it is amazing the amount of guys that do zero, rock up and spend 2 months trying to lose 5 kilo's in and out of the trainer's room with injuries. Nov training is giving the guys that struggle with motivation some structure to keep that base, and hit the ground running. It is money in the bank if you can get an extra dozen guys to another level of fitness when games start.

AFL clubs start playing in early February and have world class technology in preperation. If anything starting early gives you a jump in retaining players and potentially recruiting players who get itchy feet and follow their mates.

I wonder the % of hrs.d finalists who start early?
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

Hi LK..hope you are well mate..starting early can also bring about crap numbers and deflate you for the year ahead..its horses for courses..if your group are disciplined and reasonably fit then most likely they are doing work off their own backs anyway in November and December..what you gain in 4 weeks is lost in 2 weeks over xmas in amateurs..its 6 of one, half a dozen of the other..
