Not surprised by this - Dent and his Senior Operations Manager are completely unprofessional This Ops Mgr is a running joke amongst the players.
Dent cant retain current players and his promised recruits must still be stuck in traffic
Committee must have their head in the sand or else they are too proud to say they may a mistake
Would be surprised to see Dent there in 2013
As I am relatively new to the club, I would like to say this.
The amount of time Matty and the recruitment panel have put in over the last two years has been outstanding. The amount of players they have interviewed and the way they seem to have gone about it has, to me, been impressive.
The sheer amount of money that some of these players are asking for is quite incredible. That sure is a lot of schnitties to sell to get just one player.
I for one have enjoyed being at the HVFC during last season, mainly on a Friday night. But, bagging people for doing their best is something I cannot understand.
I hope that the Vikings have a great year with Denty as the coach and the other very hard working committee behind all the coaches.
Why do H.V.F.C. need a "recruitment panel" they have over 200 kids at there club. Better of with a "development panel".
Very good point[/quote]
Is the recruitment of players a short term gain with the amount of talent at this club I believe the wrong path to go down. It's about developing the talent you have I would have thought.
Agree with those posting comments that Valley should be looking to develop their juniors rather than recruit players. However the club has a deficit in their 18s to the point that they did not make finals this year for the first time in a real long time. Whether or not this was because of the coach they had for the last couple of years or the commitment of these kids is up for debate - talent was there for some but the attitudes stunk.
Like other clubs Valley have our fair share of kids playing 18s at South and Westies and hope that these kids come back to play with is if they are cut from their SANFL clubs - despite Marty Clifton's best recruitment efforts at South.
In the meantime we have not had kids coming through the last couple of years in sufficient numbers with the required level of ability to top up the A grade. Hence the need to recruit a few extras.
In another couple of years the kids playing 14s and 16s are ready we will have a truck full of homegrown talent. Just need to keep them there and keep them loving their footy
Hearing on the grape vine that aldinga may have picked up a big quality tap ruckman. Think his name is Lyndon Mumford. Big strong guy. Hope he goes well

Someone told me this last night. Why would he?? He has said that he wants to stay at Geelong in some role as a ruck coach. Biggest load of rubbish written on this forum for ages.
