Kurt Angle has said he is pushing for and olympic spot in the 2012 games for wrestling

also said he wants to get married again this year and make sure impact wrestling comes to australia before end of the season

Aside from Regal, this tournament is for the main eventers really.
Gone are the times when an Owen Hart or Stone Cold were "made" after winning the event, and I don't want to see a tournament where someone like John Cena wins just because he's not involved in the title hunt when the tournament comes around.

Give the King a guaranteed title shot (similar concept to MITB) but make it open only to people who haven't held a world title.

Imagine this:

1. Jinder Mahal
2. Alex Riley
3. Drew McIntyre
4. Kofi Kingston
5. Tyler Reks
6. Brodus Clay
7. Hunico
8. Ted DiBiase

There's your eight-man bracket, the finalists will be wrestling in their third match of the night, will look like real stayers, and boom, stars are born.

3. Randy Orton
4. CM Punk
5. Sheamus
6. Mark Henry
7. The Miz
8. Chris Jericho

This is obviously more star studded, but who really cares?

MP, those guys you listed weren't main eventers at the time they won.

Angle in 2000 - Three months after dropping the IC & European Titles at WrestleMania 16. Hadn't had a world title match at that stage.
Edge in 2001 - Was still in a tag team with Christian. They used his win to ultimately split them up and Edge went on to win his first IC Title later in the year.
Lesnar in 2002 - Only debuted three months prior. Got pushed quickly after his win, into main event of SummerSlam with The Rock.

It used to be a 16 or 32 man tournament, which they could still do easily with the amount of guys around, even without Punk, Cena, Orton, Bryan, Henry etc (the guys in the world title frames). Someone like a Cody Rhodes could benefit massively from winning it.

Randy Orton Returns To Action At House Show, Tamina Wants Vickie Guerrero

-- Tamina stated on Twitter that she wants Vickie Guerrero—her frequent traveling partner—to assist her in her road to WWE glory.

The second generation grappler wrote, "It would be another step further to have Vickie Guerrero manage me, i like her style...."

-- Randy Orton, who has been sidelined since late December due to a back injury, returned to action at Sunday's WWE live event in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He faced Wade Barrett in his return match.

Orton attacked Barrett upon his entrance. Epico, JTG, Kofi Kingston, Primo and Santino Marella then came out to defuse the situation. Orton RKO'd Epico, JTG, Kingston and Primo after Barrett ran off. Marella also ran away to avoid the devastating maneuver.

Orton is advertised to return to television on this Friday's episode of SmackDown.

I believe he is genuinely injured- as genuine as it gets in the WWE, and I would be backing him not to wrestle prior to the Rumble in either case.
Be there, cut a promo, maybe attack Barrett (but have a limited physical schedule)- and if he does win the Rumble, it would be more like coming in at number 30, two guys are fighting by the ropes, and he simply throws them over to win.
Mark Henry is working injured, and you can see his limited physical impact on matches, expect the same from Orton in the lead-up to Mania, otherwise he mightn't get that far.

Ted DiBiase injured his wrist at a house show on Sunday, unlikely to take part in the Rumble- not a biggie, but it puts his simmered feud with Jinder Mahal on the backburner, which means Mahal will likely eliminate Sheamus to keep that shit feud going.

Matthew Korklan, aka Evan Bourne, is likely to be released from the WWE following the completion of his suspension, which is effective end of March. Look for Kevin Bourne in the TNA X Division.
