Melbourne Eastern Suburbs

Post by Wedgie »

Only ever really been to the eastern side of Melbourne a few times in the early 90s to see footy at Waverly.
Im thinking of flying over to see a band that plays Doncaster on the Friday night and Chelsea Heights on the Saturday night.
Anyone with a suggestion of where to stay?
I normally stay in the CBD in Melbourne.

Depends what kind of accom you want and how far you want to travel, the east has a few decent motels. Dandenong and Glen Waverley is about half way between Doncaster and Chelsea Heights if you dont want to travel. If you dont mind a little travel id still stay in the CBD, its only a short drive from the CBD to Doncaster and Chelsea Heights.

Out that way the other week saw plenty of "interesting" people over there. Dandy kinda reminds me of Lizbeff.

Have stayed at both, Chifley quite often has good deals and would be located roughly in the middle of the two locations you are visiting

You'd be better off catching a bus to Donny than the tram, she's a fair hike uphill from there and would be a lot quicker as they go along the freeway

Try the Rydges "sleep and go" at Bell City and Rydges Brighton.
Close enough to where you want to go.
Sign up and you get further discounts & offers.
Nice Thai restaurant on High St Preston too.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.
