The talk about be able to walk down the road and get a better deal with someone else??

Surely you cant change your home loan like every fortnight, there must be a limit to being able to change who your lender is??
Surely you cant say to the CBA for an example, oh im going to the ANZ for and example one week, then the following week you return because the rates are better?

Is there a limit to how many times in one year you can change your morgage? I have no idea.
This makes it hard for people like me trying to save for a deposit on a house with the rate going up and down!

What will happen eventually is that the banks will get sick of it and replace the old exit fees with higher application fees, and it will all be back to where it was.
Only the ALP could have fantasised otherwise, but I don't think they did - I expect they knew all along the futile exercise was just a pretence of action purely for show.

Hopefully, the bank I've used for 36 years will continue to recognise the relationship, and waive all bank fees, and give me an interest rate concession of 0.7%, as they have done for over 30 years.

It's possible that may be one issue that hasn't been thought through.
I don't think the legislation specified anything about that, but I'm not sure as I haven't read it fully.
I also suspect the ALP and the banks both knew it was all window dressing anyway for the reasons I gave above.
