Re: How strong is the SFL board
What sort of "Numbers" do clubs get as a crowd at games in SFL & SAAFL?

They just dont do it
I'm not sure charging the 3 people that go and watch would be worth it.
clearly you havent been too many games....
Mitchell Pk versus SHOC = 300 plus. And that is only Div 7, eat your hearts out. And there is no gate charge but the can bar is much stronger than the gate in a Hackham v OSB where there is 50 at who cares how much at the gate. C'mon southsiders your league needs some foresight. At the minute the strong 6 are always going to be the strong six and the rest will always be in survival mode. Get 2 divs happenin and reap the rewards.

Well done you have given 1 example of a particular match up that attracts 300 for 2 games of footy. 300 would be an average crowd for all games of SFL and would be at that number for the majority of the day, for most clubs 4 or 5 games.
No argument about the need for 2 divisions, I'm not sure where I brought that up.

SFL has bigger crowds on average than the amateurs. the biggest crowd i played in front of last year was the trial match v aldinga at aldinga!

Re: How strong is the SFL board
I estimated that most reasonable games at MVFC would have 300 through the gate before the start of the Reserves!
A big game, ie MV v Reynella would have close to 1,500 & an average day at the footy would see about 700-800!
There are some clubs that struggle to draw a crowd, but some of the current struggling clubs get great crowds!
