Haha that is an intersting twist on that scenario you have made bay boy.

But lets not let the facts get in the way of your story.

Huge day for a lot of sides.
The start is super important for Morphys and Coro. Icc are battling uphill to win chasing 220 at hackham. Keswick needing to win to be certain of avoiding the wooden spoon.

Sheidow needed 206 with 6 wickets in hand to be any chance to avoid the wooden spoon.

Cove and south road playing for a home final, with the loser every chance to miss out on finals. Cove may be nervous after being in a similar spot last year until losing outright.

Plympton should comfortably hold on to make the finals for the first time in probably 6-8 years?

Can't find the post to quote it, but ICCs E grade ended up beating their D grade to make the finals.

Can't believe that not only are they In the same div and also that they are playing each other in the last round. Unbelievable!

They now play against each other in the semi.

Just another thing to add to the list of incompetence of our governing board.
The ASCA commitee is so far out of touch with the clubs it presides over, that it borders on ludicracy.

Well done to Steve Thomas on winning the association batting trophy this year in his first year back in section 1 for a while a tremendous effort.

Well done also to Josh Lourens on another association bowling trophy well done but i hope there are no more wickets for you to get this year :D

Also, Steve Thomas took 7/42 yesterday.

Belair being 6 runs away from an outright, but Morphys were 1 wicket away from the outright and a finals spot.

This round would have to go down as the most entertaining and closest finals race in Atleast the last 10, if not more, years.

For 2nd, 3rd and 4th that is ! You guys must have one hand on the cup already ;) Not bad when you can give the ball to a guy first time for the year (?) a week before finals and he takes 8 for .......

You guys have a very imposing record at home but the last two sides to beat you there were Coromandel and South Road, albeit a life time ago, but still does give them some confidence with South Road beating you the past two times you have met .... i think .

Should be a great weekend of Finals cricket with cooler weather predicted think Coro must bowl first and restrict you to have any chance. Good luck

That's all true. Although our last loss to South Road we did have 4 or 5 out to the side that is playing on the weekend. With Luders bowling for the first time, it is definitely good to have him back from his shoulder operation and bowling quick. Definitely the X factor in our side. 1 hand on the cup would be nice but definitely not true unfortunately ;)

Was huge, sensational takings over the bar apparently! Felt like absolute death this morning!

I'm going on a self imposed TNT ban after having my eyesight and memory cruelly removed at some stage last night!

Can't wait for next weekend, hopefully our boys play well, and I hope the edwardstown bar sells carlton colds.

Another self imposed ban (-|

Has been raised before but surely the final set up would be better structured and give the top teams more reward by this week playing 1st v 2nd and 3rd v 4th ..... How it is possible that a side could go through the season undefeated and get knocked 1st week of the finals is crazy.

take things a bit seriously dont you fig??!!

so a home final isnt reward enough, if it rains or to hot the the ranked side gets the result even though the top side could be struggling after day 1?? also doesnt the season go long enough?! but most importantly if you finish top or even 2nd and you cant win at the most important time of the year it hasnt nothing to do with finals structure has to do with the fact you're not good enough when it counts.. for example if WYC lose next week they will only have them selves to blame and if they cant knock of the 4th placed side, they clearly aren't good enough to win a flag. no 2nd chances. finals setup is fine... if you're good enough to win you'll reep the rewards and if your not, get off... simple as that...

Far from it Wood .... find his "self imposed bans" quite amusing :D lol  8) ;) , is that better ?

So you have the same opinion with sports like Footy ? there would be an uproar if the top side was eliminated in the first week of finals and thats why they dont do it ! Not always is the 4th side automatically the weaker of the teams remaining...... Someone like a Coro sneaking in, who everyone expected to be in the top 2 or 3 at the start of the year, could provide a more challenging test than a 2nd or 3rd side. The season doesnt have to go longer , just play one more one dayer .

Bit like your self imposed ban from Plympton, Lifts, and A Clue, quite amusing...
