Firstly i think the WYC boys that played in this premiership are very lucky that they got to play in 2 great games.

The ups and downs for both sides in both finals were all over the shop. At tea on day one of the GF with Plympton about 3/135 and Naismith batting superbly and not looking like getting out we were looking down the barrel of a 250+ score but to our credit Kingy and Hoppy's spells after tea were superb and ensured 218 was the target.

Plympton did well to have us 4/65ish after being 0/40 odd and thankfully for us Pressy and Olli batted time and faced some very good bowling throughout the middle 30 overs of the day to move us along to approx 5/140 with about 19 overs left in the season. When Pressy got out Benny Mac stood up really well for his 62 and deserved to be there at the end but unfortunately got out with 2 more to get.

Todd Roberts in his first year back at the club after a few years away managed to hit the winning runs in consecutive finals which was great to see from the other end both times ;) .

I certainly didn't have Plympton finishing where they did at the start of the year but with the emergence of Pomeroy and with Naismith, Habib and Giersch making consistent contributions they will be around the mark for a while to come i imagine.

Greg spoke well after the game and he and his side should be proud of their efforts.

Looking forward to next year already although i hope we manage to get a side injury free on the park next year. Hope Toddy enjoys his operation tomorrow on his broken hand, i am sure he is happy he decided to wait until after the finals to have that done :D

Well done to Nth Haven on their win in section 2 as well and all the other clubs who won premierships on a great season. Good to hear that Russell King took on the role of head seagull yesterday! :D :D

Lets hope 2012/2013 is as close as this season was.

Bazza informed me about it Sunday night so I'm assuming its true. Apparently he had been hit by the gastro bug, but still, funny effort.

The last GF he played in he retired hurt with a broken jaw, this time cause he shat himself. hahaha

My thought on team by team chances at the Hewett Medal.

WYC: Hopkins & Press
Plympton: Shame finals don't count for Nasmith, so I'll go for Pomeroy
South Road: Krutli but May would be a chance.
Coromandel: Lourens
Morphy's: S. Thomas or Franceschini
Cove: Kinnear or Titterton
ICC: Henwood or Diener
Belair: Wegener or Mangin
Coro Ramblers: Smith
Keswick: No real chance to be honest
ANA: Rowe
Sheidow: Cooke

Probably no clear winner this year. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a two or three way tie.

Anyone for Team of the year or has this been done? Can't be bothered scrolling back!!

IMO
1. Krutli (wk)
2. Naismith
3. D. Thomas
4. Press
5. S. Thomas (vc)
6. Rowe
7. Hopkins (c)
8. McDowell
9. Kinnear
10. May
11. Lourens

On the night they provide votes for every game mate. Usually at the End of the night they has a couple copies to give out

I believe they will be on the website after the presentation night.

FWIW i think Steven Thomas will win it this year from Pressy.

If WYC are serious about staying a powerhouse in ASCA, then perhaps a visit to Michael Thomas' buck's show next saturday night with that bottle of Jaegermeister might be the answer.
A guset list including Kinnear, Thomas, Thomas, Miller, Gillespie, Lehmann, McCard, Roach, Francsecini, Ponting, Border, rackermann, Pascoe, Crisp, Barry, Pitt et al may provide some names worth poaching. ;)

How was the turn out! I'm interested to hear how your presentation night went last night being Easter and all. We need a massive overhaul of our presentation cause quite simply, the night is a crap turnout.

Good work to Brock and bill. Two great blokes!
