How do I go about doing this?

If your looking to join a club jump on the cycling sa website, click on memberships and you will find all the registered clubs there with contact info to find out more... I joined Norwood, simply coz I knew some mates that were already members there. But it was a good choice they ran a lot of free club rides during te TDU, and they do a lot of training rides together. During the week, split up over different leves so you can really test yourself.. Are you looking at racing? Coz you need to be a member to get your license Also gets you bodily insurance should you crash your bike if your a member of a club..
Must admit Im getting addicted to Strava, but it is fantastic to push yourself, have done 200kms so far this month all in the hills, and been really pushing myself using Strava records to motivate me.
Clarendon Rd for example Ive improved my time by 3 minutes in 4 weeks.
I'm up to about 1600km on the bike now. Pretty much twice weekly the chain falls off. What do I do? Megabike have pretty much washed their hands of the situation and told me that "it's not normal" but when they put the bike on the mounting mechanism and wheeled through the gears, the chain DID fall off.
A mate of mine told me to ring Orbea Australia and see what they can do for me.
My recommendation, don't use Megabike in Rundle St, I've not got one good thing to say about them.
I should add that I ride along the Torrens from Modbury to Adelaide. The chain falls off either changing gear, or going over what I call "ripple strips" which are pretty much tree roots coming through the path. Now I've noted a grinding noise when I'm in second, third and fourth gear when I'm pushing the bike hard.... sounds like bearings.
I purchased my Orbea in December and have had nothing but trouble with the gearing system since I bought it. I think I'm on my third chain and yet the bike still loses it's chain at least twice weekly. I can't put my finger on the problem however the chain falls off changing gear intermittently and then when going over tree roots along the Linear Park path. I ride to and from Modbury to Adelaide about 3 times a week.
So far;
Day 1, chain had a stiff link, replaced.
3 month service, chain replaced after having multiple problems with the chain falling off.
Shortly after the 3 month service, complained again about the bike and was told to take photos of any instance where it happened again. I thought, ok, each time it falls off I'll do that and bring it in. It's fallen off that many times, I am sick of it and more importantly, I don't have time to bring the bike in every 5 minutes. And more importantly I shouldn't have to.
In late Feb (from memory) the mechanic told me that he'd put a 'guard' on the frame to stop the chain falling 'in' because it fell off when he put the bike on the mount when he cycled through the gears. He also turned the cog around because he believed it was put on backwards at assembly. So now I have a bike, a guard to stop the chain falling off and a chain that pretty much continually falls off. Others I've spoken to have done thousands of km on their bikes and never had their chain fall off. A mate of mine who purchased a Specialized bike similar to mine rode along the same path and never had his chain fall off. He told me to buy it from JT cycles and I didn't go with his advice. How stupid do I look now?
My chain falling off contributed to a stack I had in the new year. So my seat is also ripped. Again, megabike said they'd replace it and then didn't. In fact, you guys patched it up by putting some white paint/goo on it which subsequently went on my clothes.
In summary, you have a very vocally disgrutled customer. I'm quite happy to not recommend Orbea or Megabike to anyone that will listen. I'm not a satisfied customer.
I've asked for your staff to take the bike for a ride, A PROPER ride to experience my frustration. So far that hasn't been taken up.
So in my eyes, six things can happen.....
1. I get my money back. 2. I bring the bike in, someone takes it for a decent ride and keeps riding it till they find out the root cause, then fixes it. 3. You replace the gearing system 4. I ring Orbea Australia and ask to speak to a rep. 5. I ring consumer affairs. 6. I keep riding it and keep verbalising how bad the bike and service has been, to anyone that will listen.
gadj, join www.adelaidecyclists.com and post what has happened on their forum, it will get noticed, you will get some advice on what to do and they might suggest a fix for you. It also is a good chance of getting noticed by the bike shop and they dont want bad publicity on there. Worth a crack.

It's not too bad for me seeing that I'm @ Ferryden Park, but the thought has crossed my mind about finding a cheap motel near the start so I can sleep in longer
