Maybe some of you should get your facts right before shooting off your mouth, Burgess has been trying to play on a pre season injured ankle, He made a decision to leave the club to get his ankle right, The club did not ask him to leave

Ha ha thanks mandrake, good timing...

Ok so I've been sitting on my hands all this time and having a little laugh over these few comments about "burgess" who is shit and a waste of money, and yep I didn't play well at all but now that there as been a lie on here I will clear a few things up, wallaroo football club and Burgess (me) have left on GOOD terms, think u will find that they got their money back for games I did not contribute... There is no excuses why I left just ONE reason I did not want to take money off a football club when I could not physically play to my potential.

Now there will be people who will continually bag me but that's all good i actually love that stuff but don't write false shit on here and think its funny...I'm disapointed how it all turned out because wallaroo is a fantastic club with great people, but I think I've done the best thing for both parties..

I'm sure all u blokes hiding behind ur computer are all "great" footballers... Wonder what you guys would've done if u were carrying injury and in my shoes?

Goodluck to all...

So, why the clearance back to Ango? Why not rest the ankle for however long it takes, then possibly head back out later in the year?

Or come back next year fighting fit and ready to go?

If the club and its people are nice, why put a clearance in to a different club?

It's your call, I respect that, but your reasoning contradicts itself.

"The club is great, I'm injured, so I'm clearing myself to another club." That doesn't make sense to me.

I would understand if that's a fair part of the reasoning behind the clearance. Fair enough.

Fair questions to ask on song but my reasoning is simple, my ankle for the next 2 to 3 months is going to need continual treatment in which I can get from the highly professional and trained medical team at angaston... Angaston are very fortunate to have some of the trainers they have., for country footy its pretty impressive.

Plus ango is my home club and 15 minutes up the road so its going to be handy for treatment ... Already been there today unfortunately wallaroo being hour and a half away makes it tough...

As for sniffing a flag in the B' s ... Not really come into my decision .

By the way on song I see u boys will have a big say once the big dance comes along again... Goodluck

All good. All the best with the ankle. Nice little interview on 7news the other night too. Very responsible and mature comments. Should have chucked in a statement about the ankle too :D

Paid players have a duty of care when taking big money. One of the big ones is keeping yourself in good knick. Superbooty Burgess would be 20/30 kgs overweight. No wonder he has ankle problems. Still waiting for the highlights package at the Exchange.

Thing is I can lose weight mate, but I bet your skill level will always be average... Just worry about yourself mate and use the forum for more than cheap shots at blokes u don't even know.

Agree Westy. Unfortunately these days there is a "what's in it for me" attitude. I remember growing up playing at Hummocks were firstly it was a priveldge to play A grade, and secondly only the very best 5 -6 players got paid.

Have been around for a while now and have seen plenty of club hoppers chasing more cash than hardballs. If you are going to be a mercenary you should at least have the decency to be in good shape, turn up to trainings etc.

Unfortunately clubs don't restrict money to players with both ability and character these days so I guess you can't blame muppets for taking what's on offer.

By the way I'm only commenting on the first part of Westy's post.

If your getting paid and don't perform, expect cheap shots! Normally the opening line of current day contracts isn't it?
Why would you even worry about them, if you can't laugh about a cheap shot I'd suggest to stop reading these types of things.

you blokes won both divisions of the Landmark Cup yesterday - how come you are not on here boasting about that?

Skill level is not the issue. I'm just saying if a footy club invests in a player, the least he can do is get him self fit. How many times would burgess drive past kadina without pulling into maccas. The hamley bridge cancer has infected a great club with the coach promising the wallaroo club they will play finals. Left yorkes with your tail between legs an a losers limp. 91 goals short.

Having not played for 2 full seasons im not sure that Mossy needed a clearance. I think you become a 'free agent' of sorts if you dont play for 2 years. I could be wrong but all you need is to register i believe

think you will find Moss played at Willaston in 2010 and even if he has not played for 24 months there is still a process the club and leagues need to follow. Not sure how he could be registered if still on Willaston player list.Something not right with this and it should be investigated.
I am alos told he was cleared back to Willaston on Friday morning and then cleared back to Crows in the afternoon.Club in the North Eastern league fined $2500 dolars and lost points for playing a player without a clearance.
