Can anyone help me out and tell me how many games Kevin Taylor ended up playing for West Torrens and how many goals he kicked?

Some of Doug Cox's runs out of defence were sensational.

The Great Man. "Lindsay Head"

My old man used to say he could tell which way the ball would bounce everytime it was in the air and it hit the ground.

I played for 20 years, I couldn't work it out....
Smile :)

It's only Money $$$ :)

What is happening to our SANFL guys...

I'd never seen any footage of Head before, but was watching "1981 The Way It Was", and he was featured on there. Obviously he wasn't still playing then, but because he quit as Torrens' coach that year, they showed some footage of his playing days.

Fred Bills, Lindsay Head, Neil Hawke, Geoff Kingston, Bob Shearman all played in the victorious 1963 State Team against the Vics on the MCG. We've probably never had 5 stars of that standard ever playing together. Never got to a Grand Final with them though because the team fell away after them and the old saying " a champion team will beat a team of champions" (5 champions any way)

Played against him in the old SAFA days. Never saw him do anything even remotely dirty. Big bugger tho and ran in straight lines

You couldn't have played for Townies then because he had a rush of blood one day in front of the clubrooms down there.
Sure wasn't a dirty footballer just hard at it.
Top bloke too. Does anybody know where he is at?
Drove the big sky scraper cranes for a job many moons ago.

Peter Cousins was good value to watch at times.
Bobby Enright, Lee Robson, Kevvy Mac, Bruce Lindsay, Scruff were the real goers.
Remember Rod Galt? He was a disappointment for his size as was Chris Lindsay.

I remember Rod Galt playing in season 1980 when I went to regular SANFL games for the first time. I recall another big Torrens bloke Dirk Inglis.

Both recruited from VFL I think..?

How would Chris Lindsay measure up as far as tallest players to have played in SANFL? Up there perhaps with the Lounders.

Also re Chris Lindsay, was he in a relationship with an olympic athlete at one stage? I have a vague memory he was.
