But I do agree, they might as well say everything causes cancer.
Any chemical with a benzene ring in it has to be suspect including the parabenzene compounds in sunscreens.
But any cause of ongoing tissue irritation is a risk - which is how alcohol makes the list.
Toluene (Methyl Benzene) was pulled off the market as a fuel additive in the 1970 because of the rise in bladder cancer correlating with it use.
(Not just because kids could use it to make TNT at home, like one of my classmates did in the 1960s.)
