to me it is retarded having them on east terrrace anyway, it is very difficult trying to thread through the busses to get to the other lane, and the busses i have seen arent too keen on letting cars through. i have seen cars get stuck having to go left.

That's what I was thinking. I just went in the right hand land (bus lane) at the traffic lights on the road before North Terrace, I wasn't the only car doing it.

while i dont disagree with what you did, just be careful. in the first couple of weeks that the bus lanes were in operation i saw coppers stationed at that set of lights and they were chatting to cars that did that. it was just a friendly warning (i believe there is a grace period) but sooner or later they will start fining people.

It's stupid. So you have to be in the left lane and wait for the buses to pass. This is going to cause delays for people who want to turn left onto North Terrace. This quick fix isn't going to work.

but it won't cause delays for the buses.

I'm heading to Melbourne end of August and looking at heading to watch Geelong and Bulldogs at Geelong. Can you just jump on the train in Melbourne and it drops you off pretty much at the oval? How long does it take to get there by train and do they have trains running pretty much straight after the game back to Melbourne? Missus wants to go watch the Cows v Mel in the twilight match after but not sure if we'll get back in time. Hoping the Cats game is a 12.10pm start.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

I reckon you've slightly missed the point Ian ;)

How does your average Joe know if their microwave is leaking radiation?

You wouldn't!

The music rights were only signed for the time of the series they never thought it would end up on DVD or constantly repeated on T.V. The same also happened for The Tour of Duty. They had ex amount of years they would use the music for then had to be redone with other music to avoid paying more royalties.

without getting it tested no one would know, I can remember reading some where once that if you put a fluro tube outside the door and run it empty, if it leaks the tube will glow.....could be a old wives tale though..........

Ahhh, ok that explains why when you see repeats of the Flintstones and Married with Children it's not the original theme show opening...

I just assume they all potentially leak and turn mine on at arm's length and step back! ;)
Seriously, mine is never set up in places where may I need to stand close to do preparation while it is running.

Re Married With Children theme song - from memory in the first few seasons, it was Frank Sinatra version, then replaced.

Did they subsequently replace Sinatra's version when showing repeats of the early seasons?

Following on from the microwave discussion...

Does anyone know why the new compact flourescent lightbulb I recently installed momentarily "flashes" now and again after I've switched it off? I had a conventional lightbulb in that socket for years but that finally blew so I replaced it with a compact flouro. Dunno how long the flashing continues but it is at least half an hour. It stops when I cut off the entire house power.

My girlfriend now has the same thing happening at her place!

A bit of a worry I think - any suggestions?
