The situation there is a joke and you are the laughing stock of football in this state.
Fractions of you kicking up a stink at different stages doesnt work as you have seen over the years.
Until you unite as one and make a stand together things will continue to be the same. No more unofficial backings and no more closet support. Grow some balls

As it stands currently there will be no football tomorrow in Port Lincoln. The umpires have stuck to their guns and refused to umpire.
Crisis meeting at league rooms at 3pm today.
MPFC appeal cant be heard til next week by Country Footy Assoc, so the game at mallee park oval tomorrow stands while appeal is in process, BUT..... the umpires have not agreed to umpire there.
We have a stand-off

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

Well done to the umpires for showing some initiative. Now will they be backed up by the soft cock clubs?

The option of flying umpires in from Adelaide is currently being discussed between the big decision makers. This may happen if the local umpires refuse to umpire.

Surely this is a case of bringing the "game into disrepute" & should be dealt with accordingly.
The comments in Thursdays PLT was absolute drivel, who could blame the umpires for making a stance, good luck to them.
No one club is bigger than the league & failure to accept the "league's decision" is an act of treachery.
It is not that long since a side was removed from the Independant Riverland league for reapted breaches, full credit to that league for drawing a line in the sand.

Its the umpires that have drawn a line in the sand not the league. The leauge have had plenty of chances previously to draw a line in the sand and haven't.
Im strongly pushing for us to joing GFFL next season and I have a lot of support.

I dont know why you guys are having a crack at the PLFL officials., This is a critical moment in the history of the PLFL and US(ME INCLUDED) are just sitting here waiting for a handful of volunteers and a couple of paid admin staff to make the decision that is going to cause uproar on either side of the fence...
If the MPFC continue to get things revoked by the league and SANFL of course they will continue to throw their weight around, but i think its time that most of us on here that are part of the PLFL stand up and maybe make a stand of how we want the league to look.
No point just continually whinging about the lack of backbone in the PLFL officials room.
I do not like playing football or officiating at any level against the MPFC,
I have many indigenous friends and people i deal with and aside from football they are lovely.
But i have no time for the controlling, demanding, bullying organization that is called the Mallee Park Football Club.
That is my opinion and if there are Mallee Park supporters reading this, dont take it personally, but maybe think about how you can better your club..........

Geez, ever since I left Lincoln in 2006 all I have heard is bad things about the Mallee Park Football Club whether it be ill-disciplined acts on the field, abusive supporters or the club breaching the rules of the PLFL. The league just needs to put it's foot down and dish out some punishment for once or in other words "get a sack"...they have been slapped on the wrist too many times.

The first time the commissioners grew a set (earlier in the week) they got overturned.
The umps grew a set, and backed down.
RIP Port Lincoln Footy.

Re: EP Football - PLFL, GFFL, MWFL, FWFL, EEFL
it would be a very difficult time down for all involved except for mpfc. i feel for the port lincoln officals as they would try be doing the right thing but obviously in trying conditions (threats etc). sanfl needs to take take this one but we all know the media will be involved and the R word will be an issue. maybe it does need a front page spread on the advertiser. maybe some journos in melb would take it on.
as for coming into our league, it seems easy but you to take into account of what is already going on here. we have under 12s and under 16s, thats it. most clubs are doing ok at that in that we can fill both teams and the kids get a decent crack. you guys have under 9s,11s, 14s and 17s. you would need another league down there just for kids. then there is the netball and all the kids you have with that, and dealing with women!! bloody hell!!
if it was just a grade and b grade it would be easy but our clubs would not move if it upset our kids playing structure which at the moment is very good.

Mallee Park have agreed to aknowledge the incident at mallee park oval (which they previously didnt). They then argued that a few supporters should not cost the whole club.
MPFC have agreed to aknowledge the incident and will send an appology on a letter head and the umpires accepted that and agreed to umpire.
I was shocked when Jim backed down after comments in the paper from Joe.
The punishment of losing home games has been dropped by the PLFL.
