Do the Eagles need a messiah like J Cicc to breathe some life into the place? Why is Ace so quiet this year? Would be great to see them climb back up the ladder.

People only post when there winning. on a more serious note they don't seem to have many juniOrs on the up. 14s 17s cop beltings most weeks!

Their 17's & 14's are both sitting 5th atm, they are obviously always going to struggle in the juniors against the big 3 clubs but they've done alright against the others.

They have at least a dozen very promising juniors coming through the ranks, at least half a dozen 17's that will start playing A's in the next 12 months, a couple already have.

Hummocks lack depth, it would be hard to entice players out there as it's the furtherest journey from the city, it would be hard to implement game plans as I couldn't see training being well attended, hopefully Cicca does return and they can have their shot at becoming a force again.

Exactly, they may not have the numbers they once did but they do have some quality players running around.
The 3 Williams' in the 17's, Josh Appleby, Buzz Taylor, Tait Nottle, Chris Veitch, Studham brothers, Mitch Hill, Jordan Allsop and Jack Lu (could be the first chinese A Grader?) will all be definate A graders in the next 3-4 years from what I've seen. Plus bring back Dallas Hill from Centrals and they will have a pretty good side on paper.

Tough spot for Cicca here, even with te kids coming through, does he want little success in his last couple of years playing (Even though he loves the club, thats not in question here) iof they cant recruit anyone else...

Can't comment if players are leaving or staying because I don't know and not that involved. Like I said its only my opinion. I would have thought at a minimum we should have beaten united and hummocks 3 times each, but the club might have a different perspective on it all.
Back to the creek it is.

Seriously, i don't think Cicca returning will have much of an influence long-term.

If so does that put them in 5th place going by that ladder?

Would the club consider that a pass mark for Red and his recruits?

IMO I wouldn't think that 3 wins and a draw is a pass mark. That's only what I think. Not sure on the club. But if that puts us in 5 th spot what does that say about the comp??

Interesting from someone at the club, what would have been the expectations given there was a pretty big exodus for the Bombers from last year also...
Who do you think has made an impression on the club and will they all stick around?

I'm sure everyone would have been talking and expected finals. If we are judging by wins and losses you could say the club have not improved at all. But to be honest the margin of losses has decreased from previous seasons. Also this season we have had one of the weaker batch of locals playing due to work, form, injuries and a few other reasons which means a heavy reliance on imports.
As an outsider looking in, I don't think it's a pass mark but with what red has to choose from you could argue otherwise.
Out of the recruits that has impressed the most? Probably Valor Thach. Was leaning towards Craig Taylor but unfortunately hasn't played enough games where as Thach has played every game and works extremely hard and carried the midfield in Taylor's absence.

Congratulations to Sam Rowland, the SANFL Maccas Cup MVP for Round 20. Sam had 37 possessions and 10 clearances in the Eagles U/18 teams 37 point win against North Adelaide on the weekend.

No rule for racial abuse in APFL. Have been putting up with this sort of crap for years and no action ever taken by APFL committes.

No good 2 hear. We had troublemakers abusing colts at wakey thus year when play virgina. big heros grown men abusing young kids. Heard its been happened a bit with viginia this year, but when complained about nobody does anything. There goal umpire is actually the worse 1 for it.
Well done balak on kicking em out. Maybe next time we should get the cops to do it too.

Well, still four points separating wangas#4 from the chasing pack but tipsters had a big chance to get some points back on him on the weekend but failed to pick Virginia! (ack)
No big movers really and poor tipping all-round from most of us barring hanno_7, who had a rare good week.
I didn't see any tips from UNDERthePACK (I think) so last year's premier is out!
