When somebody passes away they are referred to as late (eg. the late Joe Bloggs). My question is where does that come from and when was it first used?

I need to know a good panel beater. Any of you mob on here in that line of work?

We're going to sell our '03 Camry but the passenger door needs some attention. I've had a couple of quotes but thought I'd sling some business to one of you strangers rather than a total stranger...

Also gotta get it buffed and polished too I reckon.

According to one source, it's first written usage in this way in the English language was in Caxton's Eneydos in 1490: "Her swete and late amyable husbonde".
