I was handed a ten week supension ( refusing to wave flags) while goal umpire, this was after a phone call(tribunal night) to the central umpire whom stated to the commision that the charge was smiply untrue and he had no problem with the goal umpires that day. So i appealed (it took 11 weeks) so they gave me a extra year suspension   . This would have got me a life ban under today system. Great system jumbo.

Let me get this straight, you were an official goal umpire, a goal or point was scored, you refused to wave the flags, the APFL suspended you from any future goal umpiring for 10 weeks. Seems to me they did the right thing!

WTF has this got to do with the current issue? Have I missed a few posts or something?

TW v Balak in every second semi of every grade of footy. Also, I reckon every TW footy and netball team are in the finals this year. Amazing achievement.

Tipping results:

Congratulations to wangas#4 for winning the 2012 APFL footy tipping competition by five points over runner-up, Hazbeen and six points over a gallant and fighting The Big Shrek.
wangas#4 set up the win with excellent tipping through the middle and latter stages of the season, The Big Shrek fought hard but was unable to reign in the big lead in the end.
Impressive in his debut was Alabama Slammer (equal third), while norm11 was a big improver on last year.
Jumbo also had a great finish to steal a share of third.
Several posters realised they were out of the running and gave up, including last year's champ, UNDERthePACK, who was in ominous form early.
Mythical Creature and hanno_7 paid the price for their loyalty to their respective clubs.
Hazbeen (second) was close again but no cigar, after coming runner up last season.
Thanks all for your participation. Good luck to all teams in the finals.

I don't think there is an official one to be honest.
It was something I tried to instigate this year with the awards but never got legs.
I'll put one together with some expert help in coming weeks.
Also have an interesting Plains Producer medal preview coming up next week.

Medal count is after the prelim ( Sep 8 ) I believe.

I did not get an invite to the event, so I'm guessing they're not out yet or I failed miserably. Probably the latter.

Kirk Heberle also on board again in his playing assistant coach role.

I did read that 'dribble' in the producer last week. It was a very amusing read.
Very good to see Thach and Heberle re signing. Would love to see a fully fit Craig Taylor in this comp, the guy is a gun.
Would be great if he signed on for next year and got over his injuries.

Would definately have Thach and Taylor in their from HB.
Only realistic chance IMO
Hanson could get a gig but with Nicklaus and Dawson he probably won't get a gig in the forward line.

Well done to league for taking action. Credit to them.

Any thoughts on the guest speaker for mail medal night?
