One would think that young TJ Kovaleff has earned his stripes to play his debut A grade match, he is an absolute JET... He made an outstanding 32 after controversially getting out on a no-ball wich was not called by the umpire!! Definatley had his sights on that elusive ton, the kid certainly has the potential if given the opportunity. If he gets looked over selection yet again, I would be packing my bags straight to P.E or Goolwa to lift the sides batting stocks, and without a doubt bring one of these teams to its once former Glory within the GSCA.

big effort to make 200 runs, would certainly like to see them now progress and beat some top 4 sides, nether the less great effort.
The Top 4 at the moment looks pretty solid and will have to be some big shocks to change this around one would think.
Some good efforts this year by some new Guns of the Comp in ALTUS and HOFFMAN making tonns.

The term "Guns" is a bit premature for both Altus and Hoffman. Hoffman is a quality bat, made 88 before his 133 which is quality, but it was against Rapid Bay and Aldinga respectively and neither of the sides are premiership contenders. Take nothing away you can only play against the attack given but the real test is against the top four clubs; McLaren, Mt Compass, Enc Bay and Willunga. In rd 1 Hoffman only managed 15 against Willunga and last round, although Enc Bay having already won the game, he managed 8. Altus is a young talent no doubt but scored a duck against Mt Compass in rd 1 and only managed 22 against Enc Bay. Keep in mind he scored his 127* against Goolwa whose bowling attack and overal game play is really struggling without Evans leading them. It will be a big test for Altus this week coming up against Willunga, who IMO have one of the strongest if not the strongest bowling attack in the comp. I will be keeping a close eye on the results as they come up on MyCricket to see how he goes.

It's very early on in the season and we will know a lot more once all teams have played more two day cricket. It's great to see young players hitting tons and taking 5 wicket hauls, I want to see more of it because they are the future of our association.
