Great work offcutter  . I Think all the discussion lately shows that people are interested in the meyer shield and want the team to do well ! In all team sports there is always debates on who should be in and who shouldnt be. Good luck to all involved!! Why is our league known as Crays ??

Totally agree I think it's great to see so much passion towards the side and I believe it's because we all want the team to succeed. We are passionate cricketers and have great pride in our association so of course we want them to do well because they are representing all of us.

Can't help you on the Crays tho... Maybe Tony has greater insight?

Stems back to the days when Michael Henderson (Hendo) was playing. He would provide numerous crayfish for the players to feast on over the weekend.

good to see the goolwa lads get a W on the board on saturday and also good to see vic robertson scoring more runs. rapid bay chasing down 230 odd to win with benno missing for the first time this year really. and mclaren getting done over by mt compass with sandy num claiming another 4 wickets. mt compass to maybe take mclaren 2nd chance away from them?

Agreed, a well deserved win to the Goolwa boys! They will have their tails up to finish the season strong. Look out EBay, Compass and Rapids....

Willunga under pressure for their spot in the final 4. Rapid Bay getting home in a big chase with Bennett as a passenger and without the Giant Sparnon, will give the boys alot of confidence and a real sniff of that 4th spot.
Willunga will definately be tested with their final 3 games being: Mclarens (will be out to make up for the loss to compass and secure that second chance), Aldinga (who have a habit of beating the demons as in their first encounter), and then PtElliot (who are unpredictable and possibly in a fight to not be relagated).
So the run home could rule out any 3 peat.......
Alot to think about with the break.
I also see, looking through the results from the weekend, that majority of the selected team for Meyer Shield had good days
Hopefully form is nothing to go on.............

Ok Great Southern fans, been a couple of forced changes to the Meyer shield team. Hicks is out and on standby due to bereavement leave on the Saturday, the other out wont surprise W.I.W. or Offcutter...Kuss is out with not what i would call the greatest of excuses...

On positive side Donaldson and young Chambers are in giving the bowling some more bowling depth and experience, Chambers having a chance in the main side can also only be a positive. C. Franceshini also gets the chance in the invitation side, youth youth youth for the future!!!

Good luck to the lads, get to the game if you can and support our team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe the 2 inclusions are of better quality than the 2 outs!!! The team looks very strong on paper... but i think it is missing one certain player... he has been scoring on & off the field this year... if he was in the side, you could bet your bottom dollar that he would get the Noarlunga ladies around the squad Saturday night, they flock to him!!! Instead Hoffmann will be in charge of luring the ladies & he likes thick ones!!!
This unlucky man/bear is Jake Grenfell... should have at least made the invitation side!

I dont think think old mate Grenfell would have played if he was chosen as it's Australia Day & thats the day he normally grabs a carton of beer (what ever is on special) and sits down the beach with his black sunglasses on, perving/harassing any female that has 2 legs and a glimpse of a heart beat!

Great inclusions for the Crays.....

I think Donaldson and Chambers have had better seasons than Kuss and Hicks anyway, great work by the crays Brains Trust.

Kuss is a good player, but needs to commit to cricket if he wants to be selected again.

Grenfell isnt an association player...gets as much luck as one G.Petrucci when batting, watch out in the cordon lads!!!!!

Yeah good luck to the lads. BDO today so Kuss would be out for the next 2 days minimum. Would be a certainty for the final come Monday tho!

if hoffmann is doing the recruiting for the after hours work then we are stuffed, unless he can find some more of grenfell's crumbs laying around the local backstreets that is. i hear thats his preferred pray :axe:

my mail on grenfell is he didnt get picked because he wouldnt have been able to make it to the southern area. would have been at least $30 on petrol for the weekend and on an apprentice wage that would start to chew into his :drinkers: drinking money :partyman: , which for a bloke who downs 2 cartons a weekend, its all about priorities.

spoke with hicksy during the week, he's unavailable due to a double booking in his diary. hes down the ride the second favourite in the compass cup on saturday and intially didnt realise there was going to be a clash but best of luck to him.

not sure about kussy though, may have scheduled a bender seeing as its BDO and we have the monday off as well :weedman: :vom:

but best of luck to the boys taking their spots!

Of this there should be no shortage! Managed to get a hold of one of Sam's recent conquests thanks to the great Timmy Kovaleff's detective skills!
