Was just pointing out that there are clubs that do pay all their a graders match day payments.
BUT, in re-reading your post i realise that i have mis-read it. I thought you were asking what club would pay all their a graders game day payments as well as a sign on fee, when you were actually asking who would give all of their players a $3000 sign on fee. My bad
clubs would be lucky to pay more than 3 players a sign on and u would have to be a bloody good player to get it but I couldn't imagine it would be around the 3k mark
When I came up the ranks I was told its a league regulation that all div 1 clubs must pay every a-grade participant a minimum amount after each game. And in in div 2 that minimum amount is a little less.
So why div 2 clubs in some respect resent going up the a div because player expenses are higher
It is not a regulation Marbles. No club has to pay anything to any player and not because it is the amateur league either. That notion or thought is way off. There is no specific amount a player must receive. Just because it is the amateur league, does not mean that players cant be paid any longer, and has been the case for many, many years.
The amateur league or the SAAFL was the name given for when the league was purely amateur, and players had to be "Whitewashed" to play, after receiving money as a "professional or paid player".
It any player had been paid before coming into the SAAFL the "Whitewash" rule applied. This was prevalent in the 60's and 70's but died out in the 80's. Many players were not "Whitewashed" during this time
Everyone knew players were getting paid from the late 70's and through the 80's. Often big amounts, but clubs denied paying it. This went on throughout A1 and was rampant, with some of the bigger clubs at the time being notorious.
By the 90's there were rules in place, so that players could get payed and the "Whitewash" rule was finished with. Instead of just sticking their heads in the sand the SAAFL acknowledged that players were bing payed. Rules were made back then, to make it legal, and this has been the case for many, many years now. The exact date or year, I don't remember.
In short - no player has to be payed anything however the logic that it is because is the amateur league is not the reason, as clubs can pay players.

Phht I dunno was decades ago
but there is a justified reason to why agrades must be paid, just cant think of it currently
why would it be compulsary to SANFL to pay all players, what is the reasoning here??

My new Mantra - I am no longer available to things and people that make me feel like shit
