Re: World Cup - Brazil 2014
Personally thought the ref was good tonight, always going to have timewasting away from home when you hold a lead. Australia looked scared of losing at the start and didn't show anything of quality until going down by 2. On another note, we are in a lot of trouble when timmy cahill retires, I wonder how matthew leckie is currently going?

Dont agree about the ref, Asian football is known for timewasting.
Have been watching the Euro qualifiers and if they tried any of that crap they would be carded.
Daylight IMHO between the confederations and the Euro group is far better to watch
I dont understand why differant confederations dont use differant refs, put a European ref in charge tonight and see how many of the pricks roll around with cramp

Frustrating to watch the hit and miss long ball time and again in the 2nd half. it's like an admission the Australian midfield is no good so we'll pump the ball long and hope for a lucky bounce. If this was the tactic from Holger or not, questions must be asked cause the responsibility lays with him. What a wasted opportunity.

Re: World Cup - Brazil 2014
Terrible 1st half by Australia, How bad is out Def
Both Centre Backs are terrible.
Far too may long balls they seemed clueless in the 1st half.
2nd half much better, but how much do we rely on Cahill.
Still all to play for, the last 2 games at Home against Jordan & Iraq will decide our fate.
All Asian teams fake injuries and waste time, easy way to stop it is dish out the yellow or red cards
Good to hear Simon Hill back on Free TV, rate him as a commentator

Jordan upset Japan 2-1 so we are now 3rd in our group. Only 3 games remaining and will probably need to win atleast 2 to grab the automatic spot

Doubt it, Japan are pretty much already qualified and it was played in Jordan. Not sure if they fielded a full strength side or not though

Re: World Cup - Brazil 2014
Is the qualifying the same structure as last time?
i.e. The top 2 from each group qualify automatically and the two 3rd place teams from each group play each other with the winner of that playing the winner of the Oceania Group for a spot in Brazil.

Everything except.the play off gets rotated each world cup.
This time round Oceania (NZ they won oceania the.other day) v North/central America
Asia v South America
The problem with Barcelona is that I like fish and chips but they had to turn it into calamari and patatas

Thanks for that. It's surprising none of the media really talk about this.
What are the odds we play Uruguay again?!

Atm fairly high...except this time Uruguay have Cavanni, Surarez and Forlan up front and they would murder us.

Re: World Cup - Brazil 2014
Not a bad first half.
I really like our structure and the way we are going about it.
Though if you are going to sit back and counter attack your two centre mids need to willing to get behind the ball and defend FFS!
