We were told you guys are the ones that cancelled it. We are having an internal next Friday night instead.

I was told you guys pulled out and were having a jumper presentation instead. We were talking last night that we'd probably have to have an internal. Maybe it can still be salvaged?

No flies on Hamley, they've nipped in and picked up the Friday night trial spot v Kilburn that United gave up!!

Will be the trash talk cup.

Hamley have picked up a few and Kilburn have lost a few, so hopefully the Bombers can be competitive this year.

Would an APFL club pay $25k to one player for a season?

Putting all eggs into one basket is a risk, but it would depend on quite a number things IMHO,
1 - who it is/high profile
2 - proven performer
3 - fills your playing requirements
4 - quality individual
5 - potential to add other value, e.g.
a - improve crowds/membership/revenue
b - impart knowledge and assist in teaching your players
6 - team player
7 - others ....

If the player ticked all your club's boxes (whatever they may be) and there are positive effects and flow ons, I would not say it'll never happen.

There was a bit of trash talking on Facebook over the weekend.
Hamley were on top of the trash talk but kilburn will most likely end up winners on friday
