Best news in Aussie cricket for a long long time.

Arthur was a joke.

Lets get back to being the pricks of world cricket.

Next on the agenda. Get rid of Clarke.

Yep get rid of Clarke. Wonder how our attack will go defending totals of under 100.

Clarke's captaincy and leadership must be in question. Plus he was a selector.

Right now, from the current Ashes squad, probably Peter Siddle.

p.s. Love how Steve Smith gets added to the squad after scores of 10 & 0, while Ahmed gets sent home. WTF.

Why is that? Seeing as though he has been Australia's most consistent and resilient bowler over the last 5 years.

If a few if the young lads, Hazelwood, Sandhu, Pattinson and Cummins can stay healthy he will be squeezed out. I would consider playing Sayers in the Ashes too

Think a few others might get squeezed before Siddle. Bird, Harris and Faulkner would want to perform first.

Yep if is the big word. Just don't think his place is cemented enough in the team to be named captain

Our best attack with no injuries (3 pace 1 spin) IMO would be

Pattinson
Cummins
Hazelwood
Lyon

Also cannot have a captain who is going to be rotated out of the team

I don't agree with TSG about Clarke but I agree with him about Siddle. To me he is the 2nd name picked in the side after Clarke.

He may not be our best bowler but he is our most consistent and reliable. Our modern day Merv Hughes, has some sh!t in him and charges in as hard at 5:59 pm as he does at 11:00 am. Other might have better skills and be more dangerous but he is the meat and potatoes of the attack or as Joyce Brown would say the wood chopper.

IMO our best attack is:

Starc
Siddle
Patterson
Lyons

They will be. It's the batsmen who are our greatest concern. Can Boof turn them around in 16 days?

Yup, best balanced attack

Starc left arm bowls 145 gets good bounce - variety. Good variations through his wrist work
Siddle, the work horse can get good heat at high 145s but stock speed high 130s can move it in the air. Is best when he pitches up or is just, I repeat just, short of a length. The pooh he bowled last ASHES series here at Adelaide (short) should not be repeated. I think he is more consistent now in his length and is our grunt bowler.
Patterson - 1st use of the rock, can get it over 150 and moves it both ways.

The one edge we have over England is the depth of our bowling reserves. Bird, Faulkner (may play as the bowling all-rounder), Cummins, Hazelwood, Harris, Johnson and Sayers could also come in and do a job but I have Siddle, Starc, and Patterson as first choice with Lyons as the spinner

Yup, if only we had the depth in the batting as we do the bowling..

Is it the coaches fault that the players can't make runs or bowl sides out by take wickets? I don't think so.
These players are getting payed far to much & they walk around with over inflated heads & ego's.
I love Lehmann, i think it should of been an Aussie coach prior to Arthur's appointment but its the players that need to take a long hard look at themselves.
Arthur's just another scapegoat.

Apparently he wasn't sacked for poor on field performances but for the ill disscipline off field and the inconsistent penalties.
