Id like to see a limit of LBW reviews but unlimited on catches, LBW are always subjective even with hawkeye whereas catches seems pretty clear cut most of the time and where most of the howlers come from.
And if there is any doubt, like last night, give it to the batsman!

Its the system thats the issue, the drs sole purpose was to get rid of the howler yet the biggest howler in the game still stood.
Isn't that clarke's fault for wasting a referral on an lbw appeal that would not of been out even with 4 stumps?
Isn't accepting the umpires decision a bigger part of the game than questioning an umpires decision
Personally I would rather see bad decisions influence a game rather than who uses a review system strategically better

How? No clear evidence on hot spot and the noise was well after the ball went past the bat. On what basis did he over rule the umpires decision?

that last review was inconclusive proven by the amount of time it took, that being the case the batsman should have been given the benefit of the doubt, pure and simple

There was conclusive evidence with hot spot front on and side on and then through the stump microphone. There was no doubt, just Dar with no guts to give it out after his blunders and let England use drs to make the decision.

and every ball bowled needs to be checked for a no ball. DRS or not, that's one thing that can be & should be checked every ball, pretty quick & easy to do.

No doubt at all that was out. Clear spot on the bat exactly where the ball passed. The noise was a clear edge sound and nothing else could have made that. Ball didn't hit pad and bat didn't hit pad. The sound not matching up perfectly is no proof because the sound and picture are captured by different devices. They try to match those up as best they can but the exact timing is managed, which is why snicko isn't used for referrals.
I've also no sympathy for times that there are howlers and the referrals are used up. They're there to overturn terrible decisions. On that basis, no captain should ever get a referral wrong. If captains want to start using it as a tactic, you've just got to wear the odd time down the track you get a real rough one.

No there was no hot spot, otherwise it would have been given out without going to the audio, he was given out on the audio which didnt match up and could have been from anything.

Definite hot spot just lower then the sticker. Used sound as extra proof. If Haddin didn't hit it, he would've been a lot more upset then what he was.

Definitely hit it, and as others have rightly said, Haddin would have reacted differently if he was shafted, he definitely isn't someone who would hide his emotions and not say anything!

Spot on. Although they looked at the hot spot quite a few times to make sure the white mark didn't appear before the ball passed the bat.

Re: England v Australia, 1st Test TRENT BRIDGE commences 10/
I'm absolutely guttered that we lost it. I heard the nick straight away and knew Haddin was out unfortunately. Felt sorry for him after playing so well, it's a credit to him for batting the way he did when the pressure was on. Boof needs to swing the axe, Cowan needs to drop out, it f**king pissed me off to see him get out to a part spinner in Joe Root. I was glad Rogers got some runs in the second innings and he'll get better and better, it's great to see him in the test eleven. I think the bowlers will retain their spots for the seond test with only Starc the only one who could maybe get dropped for Jackson Bird, I would love to see him in there.
The momentum shift in this test match was crazy, it changed every session, neither side had complete dominance for two whole sessions in a row, it was great to watch. Can't wait for the second test on Thursday.

No its not! That was a friggin shocker and was plain and simple the umpires responsibility to give that out. Brain fart,or is it a symptom bought on by the fact DRS is there as a backup.

it's simple. if you're gonna have a drs, use it for every bloody ball & not to be used just when a player calls for it, if not, piss it off!!
