West Torrens Top 10 Multicultural Players

Postby McAlmanac » Sun Jul 14, 2013 10:14 pm

Round 16 was Multicultural Round in the AFL, so here's my list of the Top 10 West Torrens multicultural players. They're so good, I had to name 12!

12. John Economou
Amateur League player.

11. Michael Athanasiou
Superb name that KG would have no hope of getting out.

10. David Querzoli
Weedy wingman type.

9. Paul Pisani
Hot headed brother of Olympic gold medal winning Hockeyroo Sandy.

8. Mark Azzopardi
Speedy bottom team type.

7. Henry Dabrowski
Dirty player. Member of the constabulary.

6. Mark Pavlich
Chunky half forward type.

5. Steve Pavlich
Another chunky half forward type. Greatest achievement was producing Matthew.

4. Dominic Fotia
One glorious 3 vote match for a star studded Carlton in 1990 against a star studded Geelong. Ian Herman and Tony Malakellis were the other votegetters that day....

3. Milan Faletic
The best Torrens player to ever go to Port, edging out Mick Hamill.

2. Aldo Floreani
Yet another weedy wingman, but the prototype. A true great of Thebarton from the era of the Channel Nine Football Show, 12 noon Sunday.

1. Peter Phillipou
Weedy but hard as nails (read sniper). Played in 4 different guernseys under 9 different coaches over 17 seasons. The greatest multicultural player ever at West Torrens!

Great memories and a decent "Hollywood" name! He was a pretty useful player in his day, one of my opposition favourites as a kid!
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

Starred for arch-rivals Golden Grove in their debut season in '97.

But we got them in the As and Bs grand finals that year!

Played for Greek-Camden from memory as well
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Steve Pavlich was picked in a state side but couldnt play because of a car accident that put him and his wife to be in hospital for a while. Touch harsh on the BULL
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.
