I might be missing something on this thread, but why is everyone picking Balak to beat HWE?
Eagles lost by a small margin last week to the second team, Balak got slaughtered. Eagles have beaten them this year in similar conditions to tomorrow; are these considered opinions from the experts?

You might be missing the fact that HWE are on the bottom of the ladder

However there are others that are in the running that are HBFC through and through that seem to be sandbagged due to the points system

Is this a "light bulb" moment?

I have heard some interesting stories about Hamley of late and this just adds to it.

I feel sorry for blokes like Slok, Eastwood, Martin etc. who should all be A Graders and have stuck by the club in their tough times, but are now running around in the 2's to fit the big names plus the colts in. Will be interesting couple of years for Hamley, cause when the times get tough again they will need these blokes but may have pissed them off too much they won't have anyone left.
To top it off McCabe has come back into the side meaning one of the rare locals that was getting a game has to miss out. Where has Luke been the past 3-5 years when the club has needed him the most?

Maybe a touch unfair on McCabe given he's only been retired from AFL/SANFL for two years. If I was in his position I would love to contribute to winning a flag for my local club. I guess the key issue is around his whereabouts during pre-season and for the majority of the season. If he has done the training and couldn't play because of injury I think its fair enough, that he has returned to the side. However, if he has just turned up out of the blue with 5 games to go and has pushed aside a regular local then I can understand how that may piss some blokes off.

I know for a fact that Luke wasn't keen on coming back. It was the coach and clubs idea to give some guidance etc to the young guys in the side. I hope that Luke doesn't get rubbished behind his back or on forums such as this, as I know he is doing it for the clubs benefit. Why would a bloke that has played at the highest level possible and won Sanfl premierships etc want to hang his hat on a country premiership. He has the club at heart and is doing it for their benefit, he has kids playing for the club and would want to keep the club strong into the future. I'm sure sloky, Eastwood etc would just be happy to see the club having success.

For whatever reason he's decided to start now is debatable. However I'd sooner see a player of his profile have a go with a local club. It's great for the comp and HB. If one player misses because then train better, play harder - breeds success.

Also, nice work ramsgate - Heberle still for me.

So what you are saying Hawk is that the club haven't been trying to get him back to the club to play at all since he retired from SANFL, only this year??? If that is the case, gee it is a lucky coincidence that they were top 2 when he was asked. Pfft

If HWE can't beat a second string Balaklava tomorrow, something is seriously wrong with what the coach is doing. Balak were terribly depleted last week and seem to have resigned to the fact they wont be playing finals are blooding a few quality kids. I'm not tipping this season, but if I did, I'd be tipping HWE by 40+ tomorrow.

Tips!
B 1-39 Eagles were going to get done by ten goals last week until Hamley's players started dropping like flies. Having said that, they did well and only Balak at home has made my decision
TW 40+ The Roosters will continue to tune up for the finals with this match, though United will again be competitive.
HB 1-39 Will be seen as a biased tip, but going for a Bomber upset here. If Hamley's players are fit to play, this may be closer than people think

Doesn't he coach their junior colts...
So fair to say he has been their for the club ALL YEAR, not just jumping on board late.

And wasn't he still with Centrals last year in a coaching capacity?

So basically a bloke who has done more than any of us on this forum, returned from his SANFL club of origin to help build a future for his club by coaching the juniors and is talked into having a kick is going to be rubbished by blokes with no idea... I'm sure he is shattered by that!

This is not the first time he has played for the club when asked since his AFL days but because there might be some success this time round, people want to throw shit at him, LAUGHABLE.

Spot on roo. I'm not trying to start an arguement on here, I'm just stating what I know. He has been an assistant coach with centrals since he stopped playing up until this year. He and brother stan now coach the colts. If you know Luke personally he is definitely not self orientated, he is playing for the benefit of the club.

Having Luke Mccabe is excellent. The guy is definitly not about himself, he is about the club. He is a teacher and an excellent one at that. Me personally i hope he coaches the A grade in the very near future. When Mccabe talks everyone listens.
Im pretty confident that Luke would not take you clowns on here for a pinch of salt. As most on here have only played country footy at best.

On footy i believe Mallala will be very hard to beat this year as they are a very well drilled side and coach by in my opinion one of the best country coaches going around. ( speaking from experience) . But hey footy is a funny game anything can happen on the day i would not be writing any of the top four off.

Hwe always match up well against Hamley. But i believe their coach is to negative he would rather try shut all the opposition players down rather then have his team attacking at all times.
