Yep huge amount of pressure on them now. whats their record 49 out of last 51? I guess 49/52 is still pretty good Freo well rested and one of the few teams that could grind out a win down there.
Surprise surprise. Look who is here. Not as much pressure as having the best win loss record in the league for the last three seasons and not having a flag to show for it.

That's debatable mate, i think 49/51 and 1st ever final at SS carries just a smidgen more pressure

Not when we've won more premierships in the last six years than you have in 20.
afl is a joke...mcg or ethiad are the places for finals...feel sorry for supporters who cant get a ticket and supported there sides all year...typical afl for you...i bet if it was the pies vs the cats be played at mcg !!!!!
It reeks of even more policy on the run by the AFL. Who have made an art form of it lately. No one would deny that Geelong have done enough to secure a home final, but it should have been agreed upon at the start of the season at the very least, not one week out from the finals.

Yep, now the precedent has bern set all finals must be down there. Lets see if Geelong v Collingwood is played down there. Seems that Freo get screwed for not having 50,000 members in Melbourne

A final??? It would be a bloody miracle if Collingwood played a home and away game there. 22 years and counting.

1999 was the last one I believe. A very forgettable match. Wooden spooner Collingwood against a Cat side coming off nine straight matches. This horrible match was on Chooseday Night Football but after watching it I couldn't work out why anyone would.
Geelong need another new grandstand to finish off the stadium , what a perfect way to earn extra cash instead of hold their hand out to the AFL for a loan or other. I would deadset guarantee a deal has been done. Finals would not be included in forward estimates by the financiers that run the club so it will go straight to paying down debt or cash for new stand. Can only be good for a growing area and boutique stadium. Its just bad luck for Freo..

All clubs get a cut from finals. Geelong will only get 1/18th of the gate receipts
