A pity they are doing work on the greens for those that went there yesterday who arent regulars there, cos putts dont roll out fairly

the weather was quite good

hit a front 9 of 44

only played 12 holes

I'd kill to take 44 over nine holes!

Would you take my 54 then? ;)

Well 54 is not world beating is it? 44 on the other hand is bloody handy golf IMO

Comps are still doing my head in. But they're more fun than just a casual hit with nothing on the line. Haha.

It does add a bit more to it. I've played in two and won the first one and finished second last in the other. Will be nice to play all comps on the one course so I can learn from what I did wrong the previous round.

I was runner up in the C grade on Saturday and third overall the week before at Darke Peak. In a field of 5 that day. Haha

That's pretty good still. You don't need to add the last bit of that sentence haha. Comp next week is 4BBB Stableford.

We playing on Sunday $1 per nine and $1 overall?

So, you can win $2 all up? Haha. We could play a $1 a hole. I'll ask the other lads. :D

$3 is the maximum. Play in Pairs with teams decided by tossing golf balls over a shoulder. The closest two team up and the furthest 2.

Best Stableford score of the pair vs the other best score. At the end of the match you pay 1 team member from the winners.

Sounds good. Have you been for a hit this week?

I drove past twice about two weeks ago and resisted both times, despite the course looking great.

Was fairly blustery both times though and I would have wanted to play the full 18, despite only having time for 9

Heading to Tea Tree Gully to use the Scoopon vouchers next Friday.

Can anyone give me an insight into the course?

What sort of insight?

Depends what hole you start on, but I find the front nine more challenging and more interesting. The back nine is a bit more simple, and open... but still very fun. I like both.

Don't slice it onto a roof on Hamilton Road like I did :) Although the ball did end up in the middle of the fairway.

Is it tight? Hilly? Greens fast? etc.

My irons are usually pretty reliable for accuracy, off the tee however......Am I going to be playing safe off the tee?

Not incredibly tight. Some holes on the front nine require straighter drives.
Greens are large, and quite fast most of the time, a few tiered greens which is nice
It's not flat, but not hilly as such.
Attack the 9th, par 5 that you can get to in 2.

That should be fun for you! Possibly not the best course to be playing for your first time, but a good one to be initiated on though.

He might be ok, but as we all know, a novice on a full 18 can be long, hard work.

He might see the car park at the turn and think better of it than the back 9. ;)

played a rather quick 12 holes at The VInes, took just over an hour

had a shocking start

first hole a bloody 10!!!!!! caught up in trees and although trying to play sensible golf out of the trees, it didn't quite work
also had a 7

but had a par on the par 3 3rd - ball landed pin high, but unfortunately kicked on a bit

highlight for me was the 9th hole, hit a nice straight long drive, on the green in 2, although just on the front edge, and the pin was at the back and 2 putted for a nice par 4

overall ended up with a 52

Played Kooyonga today with Onsong and a couple of his mates. Again this place never fails to disappoint.

Feck me the wind  Very blustery and made good golf difficult.

At one point it looked like Onsong was going to run out of golf balls in his bag......
