Your kidding aren't ya? You may as well kill Country Div off now then. And I'm told Uraidla will be ok now fielding their junior sides. Perhaps Lofty should have thought about things 5 or 6 years ago when they went into massive debt purchasing 3 flags. No club in their right mind will allow an 11 team comp.
If the Echunga deal goes through I for one will be looking forward to the trip over to Echunga as against the trip the"oval" at Heathfield. I wont miss the banter from the balcony when the Devs were in full flight, it wasn't a pretty place to be down by the opposition coaches box, but to be honest I'd rather play against and beat Mt Lofty than Echunga.

Lofty need to suck it up and take there medicine if we were talking Ironbank or Bridgewater this discussion wouldn't be happening it would be straight down to country div ... they have made there bed now go and sleep in it FFS !
Lofty's argument is based on the juniors. There's no way that say an Ironbank or Bridgewater would simply accept that they were going to a comp that would effectively ruin their juniors by forcing them to play away from the seniors and not giving them a game every week. Yes it may be Mt Lofty and everyone hates them, but in the future it could be another club in the same position.
On another note, just heard whispers of a big name appointment as coach of Ironbank for next season...... should be a lot of coverage on Triple M for the Thunderers & will be entertaining for the entire league!

No doubt will bring a lot of coverage to the league .. good appointment by the thunderers

It has been another club, as recently as 3-4 years ago with Birdwood. Fair enough them asking but seriously if Mt Lofty are allowed to stay up its an absolute joke. One rule for some and another for the rest!

Just got wind too. Thought he had a SANFL gig with all the vacancies. Obviously not

i have my doubts that this could be true. if it is, ironbank must have more money than sense, cause he wouldnt be cheap and would have to give up his weekend radio work. as i said, sounds a bit far fetched.
Why does Gus do some really good work within the HFL but has also shown he is willing to bend over and take it up the backside from whinging clubs. For the integrity of the league and HFL board please stick to the agreed rules on promotion/relgation and the Points system. Things are a farce at the minute including the message sent out to clubs offering up various options on promotion/relegation. What a slap in the face of echunga and the previous clubs who were demoted under the rules of the day. This is the expensive price of 3 flags.
On the Lofty saga : It's not the price of 3 flags . Before Lofty spent money on recruits their club was struggling in both A and B grade but had strong juniors , which now have fallen away . The spend gave the club great success , which is no different to what nearly all other clubs have done. Unfortunately without cash clubs don't survive central division.
Is it just me or do others find it strange you get relegated on a club championship style system but only need the A grade to win in country to get promoted ?
