Smitheram i heard has accepted the Seaton job. Might be a good thing as a clean out looks on the cards!
I heard a twist has hit this story. A players revolt has seen Smitheram ousted already out the job and Paul Marshall named new A Grade Coach with Matt Webber as his Assistant at Seaton??? Things that make you go hmmmm
I spoke to a couple Seaton A graders this afternoon, and they had no knowledge of a player revolt. Have heard that they didn't get Smitheram accross the line for whatever reason, and so he has decided to stay as Footy Director at PDFC. Probably the best for all parties after seeing ITC's response last week. For your clubs sake I hope not everyone shares his views.
Apparently Smitheram couldn't get any assistants to come with him to Seaton ( not surprising ) so he passed up the opportunity to coach & yes stuck with Port Districts as a Football Director after alot of pressure from one of his clubs hyreichy.
So we now see Dingles take the reins at Seaton
which is no doubt an interesting but not surprising appointment considering InTheChairs response that players will not be happy if Smitheram gets the job.
Smitheram i believe made the right decision as theirs nothing worse than having an undermining person working within behind your back, as your on a hiding to nothing, trust me i should know, ITC's post was a perfect example of what was to be expected if Smitheram chose to take the job.
I say let them do it their way, as that way has clearly shown to be effective in minor rounds in the past but not so effective when it comes to finals.
Remember InTheChair & Seaton don't play to win premierships
