Not sure the country clubs could give them exposure to (all 18) afl clubs though, which would be a carrot if they are serious.

As being young and immature?
Word is Freo were looking at Motlop this year but he wanted to come back to SA. Krakouer isn't the first young player to chase the big coin and won't be the last. At 26-27, he's the same age as Monfies when the PAFC recruited him.
Happy to give them a go, first at a Magpies Premiership, then at an AFL list.

I think ( and I agree ) with TSG that Motlop was exposed as not being up to AFL standard, he isn't. Fremantle would have "looked" at potentially dozens of players.
Krakouer I think was up to AFL football, ability wise, mind set and application the jury has reached it's verdict on.
Motlop already gone apparently forgot to tell port he still contracted to peel thunder and they found out he was training at port and want port to pay a fee and port have said no.

Part of the rules of port coming into comp were that they could not recruit anyone that has been on an afl or state league team in the preceding 18 months.

But Marlon Motlop was at a state league team in 2013—Peel Thunder. So if that rule existed, Port could never have taken him (and therefore it would have been inappropriate for them to announce he was training with them). No such rule is in the press release version of the rules for the entry of the Pahhhhhhhr seconds into the SANFL competition, quoted in the thread dedicated to that team. I doubt if it exists.

Looks like the SANFL and the PAFC make up the rules as they go along anything to give the POWSERVES an already and a further huge advantage over all the SANFL teams.
