Re: HFL Central Division
How long before Torrens Valley seek to return to Country Division?
Recruits: 0
Outs: 16 - including Luke Ellis, Craig Jamar, Brad James, Scott Mazzone, John Pratt and Tyrone Price.
It is very difficult to replace players of that quality

Re: HFL Central Division
I heard today Echunga are really struggling for junior players and in particular Under 13's. Wonder what move the HFL will make if they happen to forfeit a game in the first week or two?

Have also heard this. For the sake of the whole HFL I hope its not true.
Also believe that Lofty have lost 60 odd kids due to the relegation & none have gone to other Hills clubs. They also may withdraw their S/C as the kids have said they wont play in a 5 team comp.

Oh my God! Lets pull Echunga out of central division because they can't field an Under 13's side. Why we are at it why don't we pull Uraidla out of central division too as they're struggling for Under 13 numbers. FFS people have you guys lost the plot? Since when do junior numbers determine the status of a club at A grade level? You've all got rocks in your head.

Its only the part of the HFL by laws, maybe you're right maybe clubs shouldn't have to abide by the rules.
Echunga & Uraidla are struggling to field numbers in all junior grades, not just U13's. In your opinion, what should happen if they have to forfeit a J/C or S/C game.

More to the question what exactly is the league and clubs doing to solve the overall problem of junior football in the hills?
I find it pathetic that people are sincerely tasting kids are refusing to play in a 5 team comp, kids are doing this, kids are doing that! The real problem is the adults and their pathetic misguided passion. Last I understood parents drive kids to games, pay fees and are responsible in tandem with clubs for sportsmanship, fair play and creating an enjoyment of sport!
Every season clubs teeter on the edge with junior numbers but nothings done.
In fact I'd like to read on here genuine strategic ideas on what to do; anyone care to weigh in?

Maybe if there's a forfeit by a Junior team, the A Grade has 1 premiership point deducted...then maybe the senior players might actually take some care of the Junior programmes...just remember senior players, it's the kids' subs that put you on the field and line your pockets!!
