Re: Crows 2014
it will be a very long year for the crows. Having a look at the draw I predict they will only 6 games. They will lose dangerfield and won't have a chance at grabbing gibbs.
We're on this journey together, One Heart, One Club and they will Never Ever Tear Us Apart.

Re: Crows 2014
Should start a poll was today the umpires fault or the injuries?
No way could it be they ain't up to it.
Mark Williams couldn't talk higher if he tried about Dean Bailey and his game day knowledge is it a coincidence that the second he got suspended and unfortunately fell ill the crows game days suffered or is Sando's honeymoon over?

They might even score a number one and priority pick but soft draw? Every team that gets to play them twice will think they've got a soft draw.

Re: Crows 2014
While I do follow the Crows to the extent that I have an interest in AFL, because they are SA based, and not the chronically self-centric Port Adelaide, I am not optimistic about this season.
I am intrigued and amused by the Crow-haters here though - I'd have thought the only people who would be so passionate about it would be those who resented Port not being given the first AFL licence in SA as a reward for their negotiating with the VFL behind every else's backs.
To me the Crows do seem to be have a culture problem in the administration that affects whom they recruit as players to some degree, fosters a "star" culture around some players, and causes them to keep on or recruit players who are past performing adequately. Malcolm Blight appears to have been the only coach who could confront that culture and get his way, and they do seem to have selected like-minded (or compliant) coaches since.
Sanderson seemed to do a good job at first, but I suspect the others in administration have worn him down.
So I think it is several someone(s) other than the coach who need moving on

Re: Crows 2014
Sanderson seems to be lost without Bailey (RIP) there to support him.
Would be interesting to see a comparison of how the Crows have fared during games that he has been in coaches box to provide back-up, versus when someone else was taking up that senior assistant coach role on game-day.

True, although I'm more concerned about the ongoing other factors, and the high injury rate over several years.
I'm looking forward to the Port/Roos match this arvo and will be supporting Port.
They, at least, seem to be getting their act together after a bad period - must be all those Norwood administrators they've acquired...

The Saints pushed West Coast at Subi, and the Dogs are improving. In the Cows current form they are no gimme games. Even if they did end up 5-3 at the break, their run home is tough and can only see another 4 or 5 wins for remainder of season

Not sure about Gibbs tbh. If he has another average year and gets offered a huge deal I can see him coming back to SA.
