Good review booney. Reckon gray will win the B&F by the length of the straight though.

Port need to find a way to release polec. Teams have figured out that he is one that you can completely tag out of a game

One thing that from yesterday that would concern me as a Port supporter, was the amount of time the players spent arguing with the umpires over free kicks or non-calls. I understand they copped a few rough ones, but to me at times they looked like a distracted and frustrated team. That they still hung in for W is a good sign, but you would hope the club addresses it, as I don't think its in their best interests for it to continue.

One thing that's bugged me the last 5 or 6 weeks is how easily our players go to ground in a contest.

That comes down to work rate & effort I reckon. Going to ground is the easy option.

Maybe, maybe not. Adelaide might finish 6th or 7th if things go their way. Port might finish 8th, might finish 4th.

Good to see Wanganeen finally get his GF guernsey back. Pretty low act to steal it, epsecially as it was taken from the changerooms straight after the game

All the negative aside for the person who stole it, order is restored and that is, once more, brilliant footage from the PAFC and that nearly made me well up.

That is ******* brilliant news.

Port Adelaide's John Butcher in hospital with viral meningitis

Adelaide: Port Adelaide may be facing a serious medical issue with forward John Butcher in Royal Adelaide Hospital with viral meningitis.
The illness is of concern, although in adults it is generally not as life-threatening as is bacterial meningitis.
However, it can be contagious if an affected person is in close contact with other people.
Port on Sunday night confirmed that ruckman Jarred Redden, who is recovering from knee surgery, had also been “hospitalised with illness”. The club added that several other players were feeling the effect of flu-like symptoms, which can be a symptom of viral meningitis. Most cases of viral meningitis are mild and generally those affected make an excellent recovery. But on rare occasions, the illness can be life-threatening or cause lasting after-effects. Port coach Ken Hinkley confirmed on Sunday night that Butcher had viral meningitis and was recovering in hospital.
Butcher was a late withdrawal from the club’s SANFL squad that lost to South Adelaide and was hospitalised on Thursday night.
It came as the Power’s playing group was hit by a bout of gastroenteritis – which can be associated with viral meningitis – leading into Sunday’s loss to Collingwood at the MCG.
Butcher has played 23 games with Port over four years, inlcuding three in 2014.

Bloody hell, you guys are really in a bad patch at the moment. You what they say when it rains it pours.

Hopefully the boys can recover as this is a fairly serious illness.

It seems quite a few players were struck with gastro and flu like symptoms, I hope the virus has been contained to as few players as possible.

Also, all the best for Butch, hope he is on the mend real soon.

I thought Port looked good in a few small patches yesterday, but to me it has appeared over the past month or so that Port really lack a forward option to support Schulz. He is the go to man up there, Westhoff tends to play a lot higher up the ground if not in sweeping in defence, and opposition sides continue to shut down the delivery to Schulz.

The crumbing small forwards for Port are still amongst the best in the comp IMO, but without that 2nd taller forward option, they appear too one dimensional.

Interested to know Port supporters thoughts on this?

Personally, given the leg the likes of Hartlett/Boak have, perhaps Port should just start taking shots from further out and look to hit the scoreboard - even if with behinds - instead of trying to thread the ball in closer to goal. Once sides realise Port will take their chances from further up the ground, perhaps they'll push up and some space for Shulz will appear and Port can then find that option closer to goal.

I reckon he was just trying to push him under the ball, rather than into the post. Speedy recovery? Goldsack was hard at the next contest only seconds later. Harder than a Cats head.
