I'm sure Mr Beefy will enlighten us.
Why?
22.26 If both runners are on the playing field at the same time while a match is in progress, a field umpire may send one runner from the playing field without replacement for the remainder of the match.

Couple of interesting decisions out of the weekends match at Ingle Farm - Lockleys reported to the umpire Ingle Farm had two runners on the ground, a 25m penalty and goal followed for Lockleys.
Also seen the umpire award an actual 50m penalty - I thought it was only 25m and 15m penalties given?
Apparently as well a 25m penalty was given for a player standing the mark throwing grass
In the last quarter the taller umpire with the cap paid two 25m penalties for two separate infringements. Definitely no 50m penalty.

C Grade game i'm talking about - there was one whistle and signal and the fullback was advanced from the goal square to outside 50

Was he kicking out from a point?
Yeah
Any free kick would then be taken from the back of the centre square. If a runner or waterboy is in the 50m arc that sounds about right to me.
