average goals per game excluding HWE games:
Niklaus 5.92
Dawson 3.25
Harris 2.69
Feeley 2.43
Hanson 2.27
Thach 2.15

Heberle's average dropped from 3.81 to 2.08

Feeley Niklaus Harris
Thach Hanson Dawson

Full forward line are all locks IMO
Dawson only played 10 games in total so if not enough to qualify swap him for Duncan.

Of the current group/squad, BJ would have to be in the mix, though some fresh blood with a link to other umpires from around the State may help bolster the umpiring stocks in the league. Doug will definately be missed in the APFL. He's a ripping bloke.

I'd look outside what we have now. Polito would be good. Dunstan I think has family in the district. He'd be good also. Gotta splash some cash though.

Both of these would be brilliant.

Deal has already been done with another.

Virginia b grade would be disappointed with that effort - smashed by 30 goal.

You will find that Allmond played majority of his time on ball this year and as a half forward flanker he can play tall or small as he has this year, not all about how many goals you kick, because if you look feely/Solly and thach have kicked majority of there goals against weaker sides!

But also if you look feely and thatch teams are top 2 so if they kick their goals against weaker sides that's 5 other teams below them. They have to kick their goals against someone. Seems Hamely kicked all their goals against weaker sides the way the ladder has ended up. That doesn't make them any less of a team!

Last time I check if you kick a goal versus any team wheather that be the top team or the bottom team it's all worth 6 points, still gotta put them through the big sticks

Hamley by 3 points.
A real arm wrestle between the teams. Hamley were about three goals up with 10 minutes to play. Mallala hit the front and Hamley fought back.
Mallala still without Earl, Montgomery, Cawrse. If they come back, that will sort out some serious mis matches today on Heberle and Thatch.

Umpiring was fairly average I thought :(

Really interesting how the wings are picked, out and out wingmen or mids who can play the role

If you pick from genuine wingman there would be no one as good as brad hardie in that position!

Travis Beard smashed him twice this year. Ricky Thomas a genuine wingman too. Dylan wise played a fair bit on the wing before going half back 2nd half
Of the year.

Ricky Thomas is no way near team of the year in my opinion. Yeah Dylan wise was playing okay footy on a wing but didn't start playing good footy until he went to a half back flank, but the likes of earl etc would beat him to that position I woulda thought

Great game at Hamley Bridge on the weekend. Hamley looked like they were going to run away with it a few times but Mallala just kept fighting back and almost pulled off last gasp victory.
It was a real shoot out and a great standard of footy.
If these 2 sides meet again in the grand final surely they have played each other enough times to realise who needs to be stopped.
Mallala need to stop Duncan, Stribling, Thach and Heberle
Hamley need to stop Montgomery, Clement, Harris and Parish

Earl definately ahead of Wise. Travis Beard def ahead of Hardie (this year, hardie has many points in bank from previous yrs). Ive seen about 6 united games this year & dont understand how Ricky Thomas' name is mentioned in team of the year? He was ok on some occasions (nice skills) but was largely ineffective from what i saw. Solly didnt really set the world on fire either, he & Herbele definately not infront of other forwards mentioned previous.

When will the TOTY be printed in the producer? Onsong would have some idea I'm guessing ;)

There is NO OFFICIAL Team of the Year...

Purely one based on the opinions of the journalists involved in The Producer.

Real shame actually. Laziness from the league Hierarchy?

By the way, seeing the amount of work Deb Robertson does for the league, I wouldn't suggest people at the APFL are lazy at all.

It's a lot of work for not a lot of people.

Was there a preview of the medal count in the producer?
I got told there was one in the Gawler paper that wasn't too bad considering.

Will Mallala risk Earl, King, Cawrse and Montgomery in the prelim?
