The AFL will do anything to look after their pet projects. I find it hilarious that Bomber and Goody were implicated in the drug scandal and were up to their eyeballs in it yet Goody finds himself funded by the AFL at Melbourne and the AFL are willing to fund a payout of McKenna and bring in Bomber

October 10th is last official day an appeal can be lodged, think they have to wait until then.
