Think they bought an existing hardware store. Have or almost killed an existing hardware store in Mount Gambier.

Coles/Westfarmers have Bunnings and Woolworths/Lowe's (US hardware chain) have Masters.

Yep, the local Mt Gambier hardware store is goneski. bloody multi-nationals
and then Wesfarmers are out buying property to stop the opposition from getting in

Nobody tell my missus about Masters please....she's been hangin' for this place to get here, and I don't know if I can take walking around that place for hours upon hours every weekend...

Tell her she isn't missing out on anything. Went to one in Melb and I much prefer bunnings over masters. Masters has whitegoods which Bunnings doesn't but the range was pretty small compared to what harvey Norman or Good Guys offer. Also I noticed Bunnings has a lot more staff ready to help you, Masters had very minimal staff walking the floor.

Masters were in a bit of trouble and the only thing that was keeping them going was being owned by Woolworths. The Mount store happened pretty quick and then it was put on hold for opening a new store. The next one is suppose to be next to Bunnings at Parafield.

I was just thinking this before I logged on

My day has been slow up till now, but it picks up this afternoon.
I'm about to go out to look at a new car I'm interested in, then to a professional meeting at 1.30pm, and to College of GP's Xmas party this evening.

It just seemed there wasn't much point in starting anything before that lot today.
So, I slept in, and had a leisurely breakfast before checking the news on line.
