From what I've been told, this is the order of who gets first preference to take SW spot and play in Div 3 in 2015:

Salisbury
Eastern Park
Pooraka
Hope Valley

I'm assuming Kilburn already confirmed they want to play in Div 4 which is why they are not on the list?

We are discussing it thursday night at a committee meeting, if by chance they get that far down the list and need an answer...

Sounds like the SAAFL should adopt a promotion/relegation system like we have in the HFL as that works perfectly, oh hang on.

Why would any club not want to play as higher division as possible?? As most know, it is pretty hard to make a grand final and go up a division (just ask golden grove), so when it is handed to you on a plate why not take it? Your club may not be in a position to challenge or play finals in the higher division, but still it is worth a shot.

Seems to be the culture of the Ammos, success against weaker clubs is seen as more meritorious than competing against stronger clubs.

Again...winning a premiership in a division that is competitive from the top club to the 10th club, no matter what division, is better that winning one in a league where the top 5 clubs are competitive with each other and the other 8-10 are witches hats.

Thats why people are not happy about having one (1) straggler in the division. We "Ammos" are not happy winning against duds, and actually try to fix or negate the problem, instead of letting it fester for over a decade, like some other leagues.....such as the SFL.

i think salisbury pooraka and eastern park all had different reasons for not going up into div 3

salisbury just got relegated from div 3 and need to regroup
eastern park just played a strong season in div 4 after being relegated but have lost some key players
pooraka have only been relegated 2-3 years ago and have been rebuilding since key players retired

so yes pooraka is in a nice spot at the moment but didnt think it was at a stage to make the jump into 3 this year but in saying that we are looking at having a strong year in div 4 in our 100th year as a club
