This World Cup has been a cracker. Shits on the last 2. Still need more juice in the decks but....
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

Just too big of gaps between games.
Teams should be playing every 3-4 days and should be 2 games everyday. Could be compacted a little. Games have been good though

Great to see Sangakkara amongst them again, love watching him bat.
Poms have no variation whatsoever, just right arm medium fast pacers, if Anderson and Broad dont get any swing they are just so predictable. Struggle to see their love for Finn, medium junk.
Poms need to beat the Bangers in Adelaide Wednesday or they can pack their bags, be hilarious if it was rained out

That would be on the public holiday Monday

Interesting you say that. Obviously NZ played 3 games in the first week and Australia played 1. Haven't checked the schedule but you would think NZ leading to the finals will play less games. Will this hurt them especially playing on different decks in Australia if required?

Our next game is Wednesday, then we both play next Sunday 8th. NZ's final pool game is Fri 13th ours is Sat 14th. We then get 6 days until our QF they get 8 days. NZ then get 3 days between QF and SF we would have a 6 day break

I was looking at it from an Australian point of view and with their games spaced far apart (and already having a no result) it has disrupted their momentum. Their next game is on Wednesday against Afghanistan, then against Sri Lanka on the 8th of March and their final group match is against Scotland on the 14th so the Aussies will be able to regain some momentum and pick up the slack so to speak going into the quarter finals.

NZ play next on the 8th of March against Afghanistan and then on the 13th of March against Bangladesh. The first quarter final is on the 18th of March so their matches have been set up nicely for them to tick along and maintain their momentum and form.

You know what's fun as an English supporter, if we make the quarters (which I'm nervous as hell bout cos Bangladesh are a good shot against us) we will end up fourth and play the one team I'd be actually happy to play in India as I think we can beat them on bouncy decks as proven in the tri series. So funnily a enough we are better chance of making the semis after losing to Sri Lanka as we aren't beating SA so we would rather come 4th, problem is we will then got flogged by Australia in the semi again (I'm problem dreaming but I'm happy with our draw now).

Also how good were boult and starc on Saturday was exciting watching left arm quicks swing the ball at pace. Jim do you still reckon the New Zealand bowlers will get carted by the better sides? ( genuine question as I'm not sold if they will be as good in Australia where the ball won't swing as much)

Poms would get India at the MCG in the quarters. 90,000 Indians would be licking their lips at that prospect. The Indians are peaking at the right time.
As for the NZ bowlers, I honestly dont think we should fear them, most of the dismissals were from batters playing pathetic shots, not too many good balls amongst them. We looked like a side short of a run

I think Australia will play the West Indies in the qtr final.

Followed by India in a Semi. And South Africa/NZ in the Final.

Reckon Watson would be better in the side than Marsh. Better batsman and offers more variety with the ball, especially if Hazlewood plays. Not that either really need to bowl. Faulkner bowls 10 overs reliably and holds a spot with his batting anyway. As insurance though, seems odd to think the guy who hits the pitch at 140 will do better than blokes picked just on that skill alone. Nobody else in the side gets picked to bowl 125-130 wobblers. Watson's batting hasn't been up to scratch lately, no doubt. But batting 3 he can win games. Marsh batting 7 with Haddin at 8 won't add much. Also gives Clarke and Smith a little more protection from the new ball.

I love Shane Warne but, His comments regarding Watson last w/end v Kiwis was confusing and then again last night.

Watto is struggling and his dumping is all good with me.

Watto's averaged under 21 since the start of 2014. we can't continue to tolerate mediocrity with the emerging talent that we have. The side picked yesterday was pretty much on the money, we don't need to protect Clarke and Smith, they need to protect the hitters, Clarke will score at 100 at best and that's only if he passes 60 or 70.
If anything, I'd toy with the notion of opening up or batting Faulkner at 3 when we bat first, he could smash 100 off 60 or if he gets out it's no big deal as he's a wasted talent at 8, especially considering we'd still have MJ to come in at 9.

What's confusing about it?

I thought it was the right time, we didn't need him to score a 70 against the Afghan's to keep him in the team for another 3 failures, Bailey's been the victim in my eyes.
