Exciting first quarter. Glenelg really taking it up to us. Milera and Rioli have been awesome pick ups for the Bays, lets see if they can keep up that intensity. Button has been strong above his head and Glenelg is really dominating the ruck with the absence of Keegan.

MacLeod has been solid around the packs for us and Cross has been lively.

I did consider painting a wall and watching it dry. I'm glad I didn't. Enjoyed the first quarter

The siren at Glenelg is going to cost a team a game one day. Surely by now they realise how crap it is.

Terrible decision which ultimately did not cost the game.

How ? Terrible play . Siren went , you just heard it on TV , then he played on ? The decision was right but the player wouldn't have heard the siren. Obviously not all umpires did either. It's just inexcusable .

How?

Well he marked it in the square and should have been straight in front.

No umpire acknowledged time.

Goal should have counted and/or should have been straight in front which would have been a goal.

the way i saw it Mcleod marked the ball in the square. The umpire whistled time off.. the siren sounded- clearly unheard by the umpire or Mcleod as the umpire was about to redirect Mcleod to kick from straight in front; by which time mcleod ran around and booted it through the middle. the umpire should have recalled the ball , redirected mcleod to kick over the mark, and whistle time on. Imay be wrong !!!!!!! anyway thankfully it didnt have any effect on the end result.

I must have seen it differently . Not sure why you would even think about playing on when you mark it in the square.

Yep, should've been six goals up at halftime - long way back from there for South.
However, they played far more direct and moved the ball quickly in the third qtr and we seem to almost stand back and watch.
We still had plenty of chances in the last but lacked polish.
Glenelg also need to learn to hold a tackle consistently and when tackled themselves, hold on to it and con the umpire into thinking you're making an attempt to get rid of it, resulting in a ball up - something South seem to do very well.

Half time address would have been quite direct. I think South took Glenelg a bit lightly in the first half , do that at your own whim. After that it sorted itself out. The pony head for Glenelg ...Hender ? Maybe stop showboating and worry about getting the footy more.
Not a bad game . Good crowd and it's pity the TV doesn't capture the crowd noise as I'm sure it would have been a good atmosphere there. Surface looked very good but that will change come winter. Lots to like about both teams from that game.
Rioli will be good to watch , he did a bit which was good and he will get better. However you sense he will excite for a quarter and then go missing. Alleway looked OK and will no doubt be looking forward to the clocks going back as that throw of the head after a mark was about an hour late.
Going on that game both sides a lot to look forward to.

Don't know what game you were watching but that is exactly what did not happen. It was an excellent game of football. Were you there?
