North Adelaide vs Collingwood in 1986

Anything to do with the history of the SANFL

LMAO. There was no Crows or Power around in 1986 my friend. The Roosters were a good combination in 86 too IIR. I'd barrack for Strut next year if the Roosters could defeat Collingwood this season.

Was the 1983 Norwood v Footscray game a trial or a pre-season cup game?

Spelly you might appreciate this.
Quarter by Quarter scores for West Perth V Hawthorn game

WP 0.1 1.2 6.3 7.4.46
Haw 4.3 9.6 10.9 15.17.107
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Thanks for that! I was wondering if you or anyone else have quarter by quarter scores in the VFL Night Series I don't have:

Gold! My favourite era of going to the footy - mid-80s.

Quite a few Rooster videos on youtube now.

Antrobus was on fire in the last ten or so minutes - a reminder of what a player he could be when 'on song.'

Quite a few Collingwood players ended up in the SANFL a year or two later - Phillips, Abba and Chocko all returned to Port while Greg Smith (Central) and Neville Shaw (West) also made their way over.

Although it took another decade, I'm glad that that Norf eventually ditched those candy stripes...

Amen to that............although I reckon I could put up with it if it meant a few more flags.

I was a fan of the candy stripes - but maybe that's because I grew up with them.

The red guernsey with a white V is much stronger tho I agree and it's what the Roosters have had most of their history.

It's the first North jumper I knew of, and I miss it myself. But the consensus on here seems that you and I are outnumbered on that. ;)

BTW, how good was the commentary in the North v Collingwood match?

Lou, Landy and Bob Skilton - very understated, no histrionics.

They let the game be the star.

My thoughts exactly. Lou really early on comes up with a classic "... but he's had plenty of mates". I was surprised, though, that Pete couldn't find room for any "soccer tactics". :)

No need to apologise, you can never have too many links to a game when North beat Collingwood, you're only as good as you're last game so North are a better club than Collingwood!

Showed the footage to the kids this morning and they loved it, hopefully the Cats can do the same thing to Collingwood today when Im in amongst the Collingwood Adelaide supporters group at the Rosemont! :D
