I watched about 10 minutes of last night's interview. It might have been that I was too hyped from seeing the Mad Max film, but much of what I saw didn't make sense. The man talks in riddles.

Awesome movie!

Everyone that I've spoken to about it thought it was poop, it and it's 42 words spoken for the movie.

Will Visy be looking for a new ambassador next year? Would the list manager, or whatever Silvagni is, be in Adelaide looking for a Judd successor?

Edited for accuracy.

I like how a 31/1 & a 41/1 chance "rule themselves out", I might write to Adelaidenow and rule myself out too.

Its Nathan Basset for me, or a Brett Kirk

with a Guy McKenna or even Gary Ayres his mentor assistant :)

I didn't like Bassett's game plan with Norwood but in saying that, any game plan circa 1999 onward would be beneficial for us.

Kirk, Burns, Bassett or Dew for me.

Not sure on how Dew would sell himself on "building a list" because he's always been part of a successful team at Sydney. He'd find himself at Carlton in vastly different circumstances, all new to him.

The idea of having a mentor like that appeals to me. Even having someone in the background like Parkin would help a junior coach.

I'd like to see a less experienced coach given 5 years and be allowed to stick to it.

I do note that a few assistants have ruled themselves out of the running - is that because of our reputation? I'd think so!

Bassett will not get a gig while Trigg is there. Very mutual dislike between each other

The strange thing is after his tenure at Adelaide it was clear the type of person he was. But you guys got him in anyway.

Thats what Ive always heard too, although something else I heard recently might suggest a softening of Trigg's stance toward him?

All Carlton needed to do was ask someone in South Australia, they would've told them.

I think Triggs role in the stadium deal has made him seem better than he really is

Most, if not all, at AFL headquarters and on the commission absolutely lauded Trigg and rated him massively as an administrator until the Tippett fiasco emerged.

Carlton might have seen an opportunity to pick up someone they think has the know-how at less $$ than would usually be commanded, because his value had taken a big drop?

I think that Trigg may look better than he actually is. At the Crows, I don't think he had to work hard for memberships, sponsorships, crowd numbers etc as they were always high. At Carlton he actually has to work his arse off to increase these parts of the footy club. A red flag for me was that people complained that they were ringing up Carlton to renew/become members and the phones were ringing out, so that cracked it and didn't sign up. Trigg even came out and said that they didn't put enough focus on the membership side of things.

Time will tell over the next few years if Trigg is worth it.
