Yes, thanks RUSure, I had Ed Lower down for two games, but he only played Round 23; Nick played in Round 17.

Spelly,
here's a few that played very early in the Club's history :
S.C. "SQUASHER" BARNES
O.J. "OSSIE" BERTRAM
DEAN DAWSON
JAMES GOSSE
ALF GRAYSON
J. "CURLEY" POLLOCK
ALF ROBERTS (not the W.T, player)
BRUCE TOWNSEND

The last two had been put on this list previously, I believe.

Can one of you red and blooded boys tell me the first names of the following Norwood players that would have played in 1942 with the wartime combo?

ROADS, KOCH, WILLIAMS

I took the names of those who played from 1878 to 1907 out and put then into the pre 1907 forum. In the totals section, just add up the two totals to give you the overall total for each club.

Legs, can you tell me how many games did the following players play for Norwood?

Simon Dennis
Kym Russell
Barrie Schoell

Russell and Schoell came from different clubs, so I don't have a close figure (or actual games played for these players)
I was also wondering if Simon Dennis was the player who also played for Carlton?

Simon Dennis played 3 games, for Richmond -- Richard Dennis played for Carlton.
I don't know that Simon played any League games for Nwd. He played 18 Reserve games in 95, and 4 in 96.
Only going by the Annual Reports, but can't see his name for any League games.
K.Russell played 130 for ST and 39 for Nwd.
B.Schoell played 68 for ST and 21 for Nwd.

Thanks for clearing those up for me - I had it in my head that it was Simon, not Richard.
I don't know if I said Simon played for Norwood or not, I might have got him out of the Budgets I have, but upon inspection, I can't find any games played either.

Just one error I've noticed. Cobiac's first name is Victor, not Vin.

I'd be surprised if it's not Vin (as in Vincent) Cobiac, Hawk.
Certainly I have always known him as that, and his school records (Rostrevor College) confirm that.

I'm equally as surprised as I remember when he was selected straight from the Under 19 and rushed into the league team to play Sturt at Unley Oval. The name given at the time by Norwood and the press was Vic, short for Victor. But if you have access to his school records then I'll bow to your more reliable source.

Here's one for you Legs11:

The list shows two names, Lionel Bridgland and M Bridgland. I believe the M Bridgland is in fact M Bridgman, maybe that could help you locate his first name.

Correct Hawk, it should in fact read :M J BRIDGMAN (1941).
However, I still don't have a Christian name.

Also, there was an F C Bennett who played 6 games in 1941, but he was not listed in Mike Coward's "Men of Norwood". Could you look into this?
