Delta goodrum could coach hawthorn for 5 weeks and they'd still win

If Bolton hadn't had coached these 5 weeks I doubt he would be considered

Titus on the topic :

Carlton are set to announce they'll be ruining Brendon Bolton's life next season

For Brendon Bolton, it's like going from riding along in a Bugatti Veyron to being the proud owner of a 1986 Laser Ghia

In a revolutionary shift at the Blues, Brendon Bolton says he'll introduce 'training', 'fitness' and 'basic football skills' to Carlton.

Brendon Bolton says he can see 'heaps of losses next season.'

Was a two horse race with Bolton just pipping Barker. Hopefully Barker stays with the club as an assistant.

I would think nearly every assistant would have applied across the league...what they are getting at that only 2 were probably considered

I think this is a good appointment. I don't think its also all doom and gloom either for Carlton, yes there is a heck of a lot of work to do but they have some good young players at the moment. They just need to sort out there recruiting as guys like Jones and Tutt have offered nothing but taking a spot away from an 18 or 19 year old. Guys like Cripps, Menzel, Boekhurt, Wiley and even Buckley have got some game time into them. I guess they just need to recruit smarter and get there senior players on the field. Easily said than done I guess with Murphy's injury now but still. I don't think its all bad going forward.

Interesting contract set up for Bolton

HAWTHORN assistant coach Brendon Bolton has been appointed as a member of Carlton staff in a mould-breaking deal that doesn't "put a sunset" on his time as senior coach.

Bolton, who will leave the Hawks prior to their round 22 match against the Brisbane Lions on Saturday, welcomed the deal, which allows both he and the Blues to end their partnership at any time.

Carlton 2015

It means he doesn't have a fixed term contract so he can be fired at any time but also can be there indefinitely.

Basically like a permanent staff member, ie club doctor or something.

Neil Craig did the same for his last couple of years at the crows, to try and quell speculation over his future but it didn't work.

Trigg was there at the time for the crows.

Im looking forward to seeing what Bolton does at the Blues. The blues need a fresh game plan and anyone thats studied under Clarkson has proved they can provide that.
