Last night I noticed renovations have started on the away rooms as the club feels they need to increase the size.

Our 2011 Premiership Team - Of the 21, 14 came through our juniors which is a few less than most A grade teams we have put on the park over the last 15 years. 3 came with the coach not necessarily for $$$ because they were at the wrong club if it was for $$$ and the other 4 came to the club through mates and were not targeted recruits. The exodus of several A grade players after 2012 is proof that love comes ahead of $$$ at the Bombers - but sometimes $$$ is more attractive than love.

Anyway, I wasn't suggesting that the Shoes are currently paying more than $3K per week but the new rules "ensure" that clubs know exactly what their maximum spend will be in 2016 and any fat on their budget can be spent elsewhere.

???

The last two have been at Flaggy (2014, 2015)... Round 1 2013 was at the Shoe. 2012 was at the Shoe and the 2011 Semi Final was down at Aldinga.

Last 7 home and away games between Flaggy and Noarlunga have been 4 at FHFC and 3 at Noarlunga. If you include the 2011 Semi Final, Flaggies have won 5, Shoes 3. :yawinkle:

None of that counts for much as of 2:30 this Saturday though.

Brighton won the A grade by about 5 goals in the end I believe. Noarlunga were without Johncock, Comer and Minns, and seemed to have a a bit more trouble than last year in the ctr. There was some good ball movement from both sides though. I think our guys will be more competitive this year by the looks of things. Looking forward to seeing what round 1 has in store for us. I would be interested to hear a Noarlunga perspective on the game!?

Agreed MRP was a good day of footy and might add rather well supported by your club who are not renowned for travelling , it's always good to blow the cobwebs out before the real stuff begins , your outfit look to be in great condition and I reckon luck permitting , you will have a reasonable yr
Been a fair bit of movement on the Noarlunga list in the off season with Minns(Pt Lincoln) W.Johncock (Glenelg ) Comer retiring and coaching our B Grade.Booga retiring again ,Hudson back to Mt Gambier due to work , B&F winner Rattley concentrating on work for now but expected to return before mid yr, Carlisle out for the season after shoulder surgery and Henry Kerinuia currently back on the Tiwi Islands but expected to return to Coburg in the VFL. where he has done some pre-season work
Lindsay Moreen has returned after a good season with the Tiwi Bombers
On the in front Copestick has returned after 3 years with Bordertown , Mitch Mulroney a 6ft 10 ruckman from Ainslie in the NEAFL ,Owen Henry from Tiwi Bombers, Owen Patterson from Tennant Creek, and Kynan Betts who won last yrs Mail Medal at Malle Pk in Pt Lincoln, and the return of Hocking,Emery and Atkinson who missed last yr with Knee reconstructions and ankle surgery respectively ,
We have also been selected as home club by Glenelg recruit Willie Rioli Jnr ,but I doubt we will see him at all such is the calibre of young Willie,.

Having Nick Mott,Matthew Johncock and Kynan Betts on the Crows Reserves Top Up List throws us a whole new scenario for 2015 , will be very interesting to see how that works , Mott and Johncock have had solid pre seasons and impressed early ,
All in all we are in a lot better place than we were at this stage last yr with more than 10 players expected to play B Grade who have had a good taste of A Grade footy , Mitts certainly will be a lot busier at team selection this yr with a bit more depth at his disposal
The $64 question is are we good enough to defend the flag ???? Ask me in late August and I'll give you an answer

Oldman: I'm asking.

With Dean,Caudle and K.Miller to come back in the side , we are as good a chance as any

HEY look who's out of the big house

Understand Edwardstown made a complete disgrace of themselves tonight at an SFL investigation hearing. False accusations against very respected opposition official/s. Made up on the run at the hearing.. What is it with them and club reports.. Seem to always be involved in something.. Maybe it is still a hangover from playing nice footy.. Maybe they can be back there next year playing nice footy.

Would you like to share where one of the players involved in the incident spends his nights these days? Is it somewhere on grand junction road by chance? Why is hat Vic's?
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Not your finest post Vics. Almost implying that SFL footy is not nice footy so expect to get some biff. The SFL was a completely different style of footy to the Ammo's when we joined in 1997. Alot more defensive pressure and defenders who could genuinely defend which meant lower scoring games when 2 evenly matched sides played. We went from regular games where both sides would kick more than 100 points to matches where 11 or 12 goals would win you games. And that hasn't changed much today when 2 stronger sides play each other, with the odd exception.

If that meant it wasn't as "nice footy" as the SAAFL then fair enough. But looking at typical scores in A1 and A2 these days it would seem that the style of footy is more similar these days. But suggesting you are more likely to get belted in the SFL - so deal with it and stop whinging - is a bit harsh.

I think it was more of a dig at college boys and soulless parklands footy really, rather than suggesting the SFL is a thug competition - it has a long way to go to get anywhere near the lower divisions of the parklands league in that department.

So are you suggesting that college boys play "nice footy" and are not wanted in the SFL. A bit rich coming from a college boy yourself.

What about the Uni poofs?

Does anyone know if Flinders Uni have ever considered entering (or been approached by) the SFL in the C-Grade? Another team or 2 in that grade wouldn't be a bad thing would it, and it logistically makes sense...

No that was what I was suggesting Vics01 was saying.

When I played (if you could call it that), "nice" footy may have been a suitable adjective :)

So how about explain exactly what happened at the SFL investigations hearing rather than leaving it at innuendo and smearing another club? Maybe you could also include in that explanation exactly what the investigation was about and what the outcome was.
