My advice would be to formally go and sit down and have a chat with your boss. Telling someone "i dont wanna do that" is probably the quickest way to be given said work, as it seems like you are just trying to make it easy for yourself.

But if you really believe you are better off not taking calls, go and tell them that and the reasons why you think that is the case.

Had a mate who was the most passive person ever in these scenarios and it never works out well, be assertive and argue your case.

Of course if you really are just resisting it because you wanna be lazy and not answer calls, then i agree, desk flipping seems to the way to go

Have solutions such as, I don't want to answer phones but instead i can do............................. Or can I have rostered time when I'm required to answer phones and rostered time where I can just do admin

Sounds like most businesses at the moment there trying to streamline operations and unfortunately they will see the bigger picture of the financial impact rather than whether you want to answer phones or not.

With any new manager you need to at least appear to be open to change and offer both solutions and issues that may arise from his changes.

If you are just against change for the sake of you don't like change they will have you out the door so quick
