He's been around for a few years now and showed alot of promise, only 25 and I thought he was one of the next bowlers in line.

Especially when they pick NCN and Pattinson for test matches without playing much or any beforehand.

Different selection policies for different players it seems.

So they'll f**k Richo around the whole series and we'll miss out on him playing for us.

Hope Australia get smashed.

Richardson will get his chance as they will rotate the fast men as we have a history of all of quick men breaking down.

Yep all these selectors and australian one day coaches and players are happy to stuff Richardson around just to f**k up the strikers at the risk of their own employment and careers.

To put that in perspective, John "but he's 196cm" Hastings had just been brought into the squad. The selectors are taking the piss.

No doubt another of those ridiculous selections from left field based on potential..

Wouldn't think 24 wickets at an average of 17 in domestic one day cricket to go with 14 wickets at 16 in first class cricket is completely left field.

One of the few blokes in Oz that can genuinely swing a ball, also has the ability to find uneven bounce on flatter decks.

Throw in a handy batting average of 39 in domestic one day and 22 in first class cricket.

All at the age of 23 in what is the beginning of the next world cup cycle, would be around 26-27 by the next world cup.

Around 15 One Dayers.

This happens every four years where the Aussie selectors will blood young players at the beginning of a world cup cycle.

There damned if they do and damned if they dont, when they bring in an 'old' boy like Haddin, Rogers, Hastings, Bollinger etc they get slammed for not having enough foresight and not thinking of the future, when they pick a young one they get critisied for playing a 'spud'.

What other better long term options would you pick who are in equal or better form.

I'm all for blooding some younger lads, and i'll be the first to admit I'm not overly up to date with whose been performing around the country in the shorter format, just hadn't heard much about Paris before hand, his T20 bowling didn't really impress me and I thought they may have gone with someone who although young may have played at least a couple of seasons first.

The same reason Ashton Agar and Michael Beer both got test caps.

I didn't hear Warney saying much about Paris recently???

You also realise that it was Lehmann who pushed and recommended to have Ashton Agar in the side for the first Ashes test.

Do one dayers actually mean anything 3.5 years out from a World Cup?

May as well give him a crack.

ODIs are less important than big bash
