Boomer Harvey set to go past Michael Tuck's game record of 426 in round 19 this season. Harvey will play game 427 against the Saints on July 30th. A great achievement from Boomer. Will he go on next season.... and if so where will the bar be set, can he get to 450 games??
1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.... And don't you forget it!

Another commemorative jumper for Boomer...if I were playing a milestone, I would prefer the traditional home strip. I'm not overly keen on all these alternate strip for one off games.
It's becoming quite the norm though isn't it.

It is all about maximising merchandising opportunities, so while I get your point. He is doing the right thing by the club in that respect.

I think he'll go on next year but I don't think it's the best thing for the Kangaroos.

With Harvey 38, Petrie and Waite 33, Firrito and Dal Santo 32, Wells 31, Ray, Thompson and Gibson 30 and with Swallow, Nahas, Thomas, Higgins and Goldstein all over 29 next year they've got an old list. Who of those will pull the pin though?

Petrie looks cooked, Firrito looks the only other likely retiree. So they might have 12 over or nearing 30 on their list next year.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Of those I would say Petrie, Firrito, Ray and Nahas will al be gone this year. Harvey, Waite and maybe Dal Santo the following year. Just a guess.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Tend to agree with that, maybe keep Nahas on the rookie list as a depth player, I would make a tough call on Dal Santo.

Still pretty comfortable with our list, this year has seen some good development of some good kids so Im confident there is no Freo type cliff, plus the fact we are one of the few clubs to have never bottomed out.

Don't know if its becoming the norm.
Only the 4th player to play 400 AFL games - probably worthy of a commemorative guernsey, yes?
This year, at age 38, breaks the ALL TIME AFL games played record - again, worthy of the club to celebrate with a "427" guernsey - surely?
Also, the head of marketing/merchandising at the club would be out on their arse if the club didn't try & maximise commercial sales on memorabilia for these special occasions.

Get a ******* idea, 7 out of the last 8 years have been profitable and one of the clubs with little debt.

Now Mason Wood is out for 6-8 weeks.
